Maheshwari Community Key to Atmanirbhar Bharat, Amit Shah Releases Commemorative Stamp

Jaipur, January 2026: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah said that the self-reliance of communities and their social initiatives strengthen the nation. The collective power of social organisations is instrumental for both society and the country. Speaking at the International Maheshwari Mahadivasan held at the Polytechnic College Ground in Jodhpur, he praised the Maheshwari community for upholding the spirit of service and remaining connected to their roots while contributing to the nation’s needs.

Shri Shah highlighted that the use of indigenous products, increasing the nation’s production capacity, and promoting the use of regional languages are crucial to realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. He emphasized that language keeps society, religion, and culture alive, and encouraged citizens to communicate in their mother tongue to help the next generation connect with India’s proud history and rich culture.

On the centenary of independence in 2047, the Prime Minister’s vision is to make India a global leader in every field, Shri Shah said. He added that since 2014, under the Prime Minister’s leadership, India’s economy has risen from 11th to 4th place globally and is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy. He cited achievements in exports, manufacturing, digital transactions, mobile production, start-ups, pharmaceuticals, and automobiles, noting that the younger generation now has a strong platform for progress.

Shri Shah also acknowledged the Maheshwari community’s significant contribution to India’s self-reliance, economic growth, and industrial development. Through initiatives like the Maheshwari Global Expo, the community is helping strengthen the nation’s economy, particularly in manufacturing, trade, and technology.

Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla said Rajasthan has been a land of courage, entrepreneurship, and initiative. Inspired by Lord Mahesh’s values, the Maheshwari community is recognized for service, dedication, and sacrifice. From the freedom struggle to nation-building post-independence, the community’s contribution has been remarkable. He urged collective resolve, hard work, and social harmony to bring positive change to every section of society, particularly those facing economic and social challenges. He called Minister Amit Shah’s guidance an inspiration for the community to realize the goal of a developed India.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said the Mahadivasan and Global Expo showcase Rajasthan’s cultural consciousness and reflect the spirit of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat. He emphasized that the Maheshwari community is deeply rooted in its traditions and ready to contribute to nation-building. Highlighting the community’s identity of service, sacrifice, and integrity, he noted that the Maheshwaris are prominent in education, health, social welfare, and economic development, and that their unity and dedication to culture and social service is their greatest strength.

Chief Minister Sharma also credited Shri Amit Shah’s firm leadership for ensuring national security, eradicating Naxalism, and implementing key measures like the removal of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir. He said the Home Minister’s zero-tolerance approach to terrorism has made the country safer and accelerated the realization of a developed India under the Prime Minister.

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat lauded the Maheshwari community for its dedication to Bharat Mata and its role in advancing the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India.

During the event, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah released a commemorative stamp dedicated to the Maheshwari community, unveiled the Maheshwari Gaurav Granth, a book on organic farming, and virtually inaugurated the first phase of his home ashram. The programme was attended by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri Jogaram Patel, Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Shri K.K. Vishnoi, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Rajendra Gehlot, MLA Shri Atul Bhansali, Shri Devendra Joshi, representatives of the International Maheshwari Sabha, and a large gathering of community members.
