New Delhi, January 2026 : The Chief Minister of Delhi, Smt. Rekha Gupta, on Saturday attended a felicitation ceremony held at the North-West District Office in Rohini Sector-29 to honour loyal senior BJP workers above the age of 60. The Chief Minister expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the senior party workers for their unwavering loyalty, dedication and continuous service.

She said that the penance, sacrifice and discipline of these senior colleagues, who strengthened the party organisationally and ideologically over decades, form the very foundation of the BJP’s vast and robust organisational structure. Their guidance and selfless spirit of service remain a source of inspiration for the younger generation.

The event was attended by the area MP Shri Yogendra Chandolia, Delhi Government Cabinet Minister Shri Ravindra Indraj Singh, Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva, District President Shri Vinod Sehrawat, along with other senior office-bearers and party workers.

The Chief Minister said that the BJP family will always remain indebted to these committed workers for their invaluable contribution and is fully committed to upholding their honour and dignity. The dedication, discipline and experience of these senior colleagues, who have provided the party with a strong base over decades, constitute the true foundation of its organisational strength.

She further said that beginning her journey as an ordinary party worker and today having the opportunity to lead the Delhi Government is a matter of great privilege for her. The formation of a BJP government in Delhi after 27 years of continuous struggle is the result of the penance, patience and organisational loyalty of the senior workers.

Smt. Rekha Gupta stated that the present government in Delhi is a government of party workers, and the responsibility of the Chief Minister is intrinsically linked to the honour and dignity of every worker. She clarified that before taking any decision, it is ensured that the respect of party workers, along with that of the general public, is strengthened. She said that the long-cherished dream of BJP workers was realised on 20 February 2025, when after a prolonged struggle, the BJP formed the government in Delhi.

The Chief Minister informed that on the very first day, in the first Cabinet meeting, approval was given to the Ayushman Bharat scheme. At present, more than 400,000 citizens are registered under the scheme, and over 20,000 people have already availed themselves of treatment benefits. In addition, a special health security scheme for senior citizens above the age of 70 has also been launched.

The Chief Minister said that in the fields of education, health, transport, infrastructure and public services, the government has worked at a rapid pace within just ten months to complete development works that had remained pending for 27 years.

She informed that the budget for the expansion of the Delhi Metro has been increased, a target has been set to make public transport fully electric, and concrete steps have been taken to revive the DTC. She said that incomplete hospitals are being reviewed and taken forward towards quality construction. At the same time, transparency is being ensured in the pension and ration card systems, and new eligible beneficiaries are being brought under government schemes.

Addressing organisational workers, the Chief Minister said that after the formation of the government, their responsibility increases further, as ensuring that the benefits of government schemes reach the last person is the true service to the organisation.

She assured that there would be no shortage of resources for Delhi’s development works. Praising the contribution of senior workers, the Chief Minister said that their guidance and dedication are a source of inspiration for the younger generation, and the BJP family will always remain grateful to them.
