Central Minister Dr. Raj Bhushan Chaudhary Pays Courtesy Visit to CM Pushkar Singh Dhami
January 2026 : Central Minister of State (Ministry of Jal Shakti), Dr. Raj Bhushan Chaudhary, today paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s residence. During the meeting, both leaders engaged in positive and meaningful discussions on key issues including water resource management, drinking water schemes, irrigation, clean water availability, and water conservation measures tailored to the geographical conditions of Uttarakhand.
Chief Minister Dhami highlighted Uttarakhand’s mountainous geography, the sensitivity of its water sources, and the necessity for sustainable water management in the state. He emphasized that Uttarakhand is not only the source of India’s major rivers but also committed to delivering clean drinking water to every household through effective implementation of the “Jal Jeevan Mission” and other central schemes.
The Chief Minister informed the Minister that, in collaboration with the central government, the state is prioritizing drinking water supply, water conservation, rainwater harvesting, and irrigation projects. Special attention is being given to rejuvenating water sources and preserving traditional water structures in mountainous areas to ensure water security for future generations.
Dr. Raj Bhushan Chaudhary appreciated the effective implementation of various Ministry of Jal Shakti schemes in Uttarakhand and stated that the central government is providing all possible support considering the specific needs of Himalayan states. He lauded the state government’s efforts under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Namami Gange initiative, and other water conservation and sanitation programs.
The discussion also included future water projects in the state, strengthening centre–state coordination, and sustainable utilization of water resources. Chief Minister Dhami expressed confidence that with the support of the central government, Uttarakhand will emerge as a model state in water management.
