CM Naidu Showcases Andhra Pradesh as Global Investment Hub, Urges NRTs to Drive Entrepreneurship

Zurich, Jan 2026 : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday highlighted the state’s growing global appeal, asserting that the NDA government has successfully restored the brand image of Andhra Pradesh over the past 18 months. Speaking to the Telugu Diaspora in Zurich, he emphasized that this renewed confidence has enabled the state to attract 25 per cent of total investments coming into India.

Addressing an audience of Telugu Diaspora representatives from 20 countries, CM Naidu announced several major investment initiatives. He revealed that Google has committed to establishing an AI data center in Visakhapatnam, while RSLR Mittal is set to invest Rs 1 lakh crore in a new steel plant. Additionally, AM Green will make a substantial investment in a Green Ammonia plant at Kakinada, signaling Andhra Pradesh’s emergence as a hub for futuristic and sustainable industries.

The Chief Minister also outlined ambitious investment goals aimed at generating employment for the state’s youth. “We are working to attract investments totaling Rs 22 lakh crore, which will provide jobs for 20 lakh young people,” he said. Drawing inspiration from the development trajectory of Liechtenstein, CM Naidu highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s focus on advanced technologies, including quantum computing, artificial intelligence, space, and drone technologies. At the same time, the state is prioritizing healthcare, with the upcoming Sanjeevani Health Programme aimed at improving access and quality of services for all citizens.

In a major initiative to involve Non-Resident Telugus (NRTs) in the state’s development, the Andhra Pradesh government has created a Rs 50 crore corpus fund to encourage entrepreneurship among them. CM Naidu urged NRTs to move beyond employment and become job creators through innovative ventures. He assured that the government, in collaboration with the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, will provide guidance, cooperation, and support to help NRTs turn their ideas into sustainable businesses.

The responsibility of promoting entrepreneurship among NRTs has been entrusted to state ministers Nara Lokesh, TG Bharath, and Union Minister K. Rammohan Naidu. Highlighting the global reach of Andhra Pradesh’s community, the Chief Minister noted that while Telugu people reside in 195 countries, NRTs from Andhra Pradesh are present in 148 nations, making them a valuable network for investment and development.

CM Naidu invited NRTs to invest in Andhra Pradesh, emphasizing that the government is ready to support those who wish to pursue entrepreneurship abroad or return to the state. He advised employed NRT couples to consider entrepreneurship as a path to become job providers. The government will extend necessary assistance to both those seeking to innovate internationally and those returning to Andhra Pradesh to establish ventures locally.

On education, the Chief Minister announced that Andhra Pradesh is extending support to students pursuing studies abroad by guaranteeing education loans at a 4 per cent interest rate. He also highlighted plans to establish AP FIRST, the state’s largest research and innovation center, in Tirupati to foster creativity, innovation, and employment opportunities for youth.

Concluding his address, CM Naidu stressed Andhra Pradesh’s vision to lead the nation in development. “By 2047, India will emerge as number one globally, and Andhra Pradesh must be number one within the country,” he said.

The event in Zurich was attended by Indian Ambassador to Switzerland Mridul Kumar, Union Minister for Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naidu, Ministers Nara Lokesh and TG Bharath, and APNRT Society President Vemuri Ravi Kumar.
