IPR & PS Minister Pu B. Lalchhanzova Meets Indian Journalists Union

Aizawl, Jan 2026: Information, Public Relations, Printing & Stationery Minister Pu B. Lalchhanzova met with representatives of the Indian Journalists Union (IJU), including President Geetartha Pathak, Vice President Basheer Madela, and Office Secretary Sunita Devi. During the meeting, they discussed various issues concerning the welfare and professional development of journalists in Mizoram and across the country, as well as measures to strengthen their support systems.

Minister Lalchhanzova expressed appreciation for the IJU’s efforts in promoting journalism in Mizoram. He highlighted the importance of documenting and reporting the activities and achievements of Mizoram accurately and professionally. The discussion also emphasized the role of journalists in highlighting the state’s issues and developments at the national level. The Minister noted that such initiatives would help bring the concerns and achievements of Mizoram and its people to a wider audience.

The meeting also addressed the responsibilities and professional development of journalists, and the Minister acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Mizoram Journalists Association (MJA) in strengthening journalism standards in the state.

The meeting was attended by Secretary, IPR, P&S, Ms. Betsy Zothanpari Sailo; Director, IPR, Ms. K. Vanlalsangi; MJA President Pu C. Lalbuatsaiha; and other senior officials including Ms. PC Zonuntluangi.
