Raipur, August 2026 : Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Lakshmi Rajwade has taken an important initiative to further strengthen sensitivity, transparency and accountability in departmental administration by issuing strict directions for the time-bound disposal of retirement cases. She said that ensuring that officers and employees who have rendered long years of service to the government do not face any administrative difficulties at the time of retirement must remain the department’s highest priority.
Minister Rajwade directed the Principal Secretary, Director of Social Welfare and Director of Women and Child Development to ensure advance preparation of cases concerning officers and employees due to retire from the department. She made it clear that retirement orders, pension, gratuity, leave encashment and all other admissible benefits must be processed and finalised before the date of retirement, so that the concerned employee receives all orders and payments on the very day of retirement.
Rajwade said it has often been observed that delays in processing no-dues and no-inquiry certificates, service verification and other required documents cause unnecessary hardship to employees. In some cases, delays in submitting cases for administrative approval also affect the release of payments and other benefits. Taking serious note of this, she directed all levels of the department to adopt a time-bound work culture.
The Minister also directed that a checklist-based monitoring system be implemented at the government level, at the level of heads of departments and in subordinate offices for all retirement-related work. Each office will prepare a list of government employees due to retire and regularly review the progress of their cases so that no case remains pending.
Lakshmi Rajwade said retirement is not merely an administrative process but an important milestone in an employee’s life. Therefore, departmental officials must adopt a humane approach and ensure that retiring officers and employees receive all their statutory entitlements on time along with a dignified farewell.
