Amaravati, Sep 2026 : YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday renewed his demand for a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the recruitment of teachers through the Mega DSC, accusing Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of attempting to shield his son and Education Minister Nara Lokesh.
In a post on social media, Jagan questioned how long the state government would continue to resist handing over the recruitment controversy to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), claiming that evidence had emerged suggesting that ineligible candidates were appointed through the recruitment process.
Jagan alleged that the District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment had become a "mega" exercise in fraud and betrayal of deserving candidates. He questioned why Lokesh had not resigned as Human Resources Development Minister and accused the government of using "power, lies and publicity gimmicks" to protect him.
Citing an alleged case from Kurnool district, Jagan claimed that a candidate from the Backward Classes category, who was required to secure 75 marks in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), was awarded a Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT) position under the sports quota despite scoring only 65 marks.
He questioned how the candidate could clear the recruitment process despite allegedly being ineligible. Jagan claimed that the candidate had undergone one-to-one certificate verification and asked how officials could have awarded the post despite being aware of the alleged deficiency.
The YSRCP chief further alleged that similar irregularities and violations of recruitment rules had occurred in several districts under DSC 2025. He also questioned whether Lokesh had influenced the process, though he did not provide independent evidence to substantiate the allegation.
Jagan argued that an inquiry conducted by officials working under the state government could not be considered fully independent or impartial. He said that if the allegations warranted the resignation of the Education Minister, officials reporting to the same government could not be expected to conduct an unbiased investigation.
He said this was the reason the YSRCP had consistently demanded a CBI probe and was also pursuing legal remedies to secure justice for candidates who were allegedly denied fair opportunities.
Jagan also expanded his allegations to recruitment undertaken by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC). He claimed that the government had extended what he described as irregular practices in the DSC recruitment to the Forest Department recruitment process.
Referring to 814 Forest Department posts that he said had received financial clearance during the previous YSRCP government, Jagan alleged that notifications were issued and Main examinations completed, but 40 sports quota positions were subsequently filled without an examination, based solely on certificates, under the provisions of Government Order No. 4.
He further alleged that recruitment for the remaining 774 posts was halted midway because publication of the list for the 40 sports quota positions could expose wider irregularities.
Jagan accused the Naidu government of attempting to prevent the alleged irregularities from coming to light and said the controversy could not be covered up through public rallies involving candidates who had secured jobs.
He assured job aspirants and young people demanding transparent examinations and impartial recruitment that the YSRCP would continue to support their efforts.
Jagan reiterated that the entire Mega DSC recruitment process should be handed over to the CBI for investigation, including allegations relating to a paper leak, sports quota appointments, TET eligibility, certificate verification and posting orders. He also demanded that recruitments carried out under Government Order No. 4 be brought within the scope of the proposed investigation.
