New Delhi, Sept 2026 : Instagram creator and biker Sia has rejected the version of events given by Kalyan Bainsla, who has been accused of allegedly hitting her motorcycle with a car in Gurugram, Haryana, questioning his claim that he felt “sorry” for her after the incident.
In a nearly three-minute video posted on social media, Sia responded directly to Bainsla’s interview with a reporter, saying that available footage of the incident contradicted several of his claims.
The video begins with a clip of Bainsla speaking to a reporter. He reportedly said he did not know whether the biker was a man or a woman and suggested that only one side of the incident had been presented. He also questioned why videos involving one of Sia’s male friends had not surfaced.
Responding to his remarks, Sia questioned why he did not stop after the collision if he genuinely felt concerned about her.
“If you felt so sorry for me, then why didn’t you stop? I could have died on the spot,” she said.
Sia also challenged Bainsla’s claim that the bikers had repeatedly accelerated and slowed down while travelling on the road. According to her, the footage provided a different account of what happened.
“He is saying that we were repeatedly speeding up and slowing down on the road. But my video clearly shows who was actually trying to corner whom,” she said.
She further questioned why the car continued to follow the bikers if its occupants believed that the riders were driving improperly.
“If you felt we were speeding up and slowing down repeatedly, then what was the reason for chasing me throughout the route?” she asked.
Sia also rejected Bainsla’s reported claim that he was unaware that a woman was riding the motorcycle. She alleged that he had come close to her during the incident, seen her hair, made gestures and signalled to her to stop.
She also questioned the argument that only two videos of the incident had emerged despite several people being present at the location.
According to Sia, one recording shows the car moving towards the third lane before allegedly striking her motorcycle and leaving the spot. She said another video, recorded from her own camera, captured the car moving across lanes before hitting her motorcycle and dragging it for some distance, eventually causing her to fall onto the road.
“If you really felt sorry for me, why didn’t you stop?” Sia said, arguing that the driver should have stopped immediately after the alleged collision and checked whether she had suffered injuries.
She said the consequences could have been far more serious, pointing out that she could have suffered broken bones or even lost her life in the incident. She also criticised what she described as a subsequent “display of sympathy” despite the alleged failure to stop at the scene.
Sia said the incident had also raised broader concerns about the safety of women travelling on the roads of Delhi and Gurugram.
“I feel ashamed of people who say their families are suffering because of this. I do not think such people ever stop to think that they also have sisters and women in their families. Women feel extremely unsafe because of behaviour like this in Delhi and Gurugram,” she said.
According to Sia’s complaint to the Gurugram Police, she was riding her Aprilia RS 457 with a group of bikers on September 13 when a white car allegedly began following them on Golf Course Road. She alleged that the occupants appeared to be intoxicated and repeatedly attempted to harass and stop her.
Sia further alleged that the car eventually crossed her path and struck her motorcycle, dragging the bike for nearly 300 metres before the occupants allegedly fled the scene. Her friends reportedly attempted to chase the vehicle but could not stop it.
Sia has sought strict action against those allegedly involved in the incident.
Her brother said she escaped serious injuries but is now experiencing severe muscle pain, body aches and abrasions. Police have meanwhile moved ahead with an FIR in connection with the case, which includes charges relating to harassment, attempted murder and hit-and-run.
The allegations are part of the ongoing police investigation, and the accused will have the opportunity to present their version of events through the legal process.
