State Government Approves Rs. 1.50 Crore to Equip 29 Ashramshalas, Grant-in-Aid Hostels and Secondary Schools in Aravalli with Modern Facilities
• Facilities including bunk beds with mattresses, benches, washing machines, solar rooftops and RO systems to be developed under the ‘New Gujarat Pattern’

Gandhinagar, September 2026: To provide quality education and a modern, well-equipped learning environment to students from tribal areas, the Gujarat Government has taken an important decision for Aravalli district. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, the State Government has granted administrative approval for Rs. 1.50 crore under the ‘New Gujarat Pattern Scheme’ to provide various facilities at Ashramshalas, Grant-in-Aid Hostels and Secondary Schools in the tribal district of Aravalli. The funds will be used to provide essential equipment and facilities to meet students' residential, educational and daily needs.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and the leadership of Tribal Development Minister Shri Naresh Patel and Minister of State Shri Poonamchand Baranda, this decision will provide modern facilities at around 29 Ashramshalas, Grant-in-Aid Hostels and Secondary Schools in Aravalli district, benefiting approximately 4,922 students with better educational and residential facilities.
The State Government’s approach shows that its efforts to improve education in tribal areas go beyond fund allocation. From planning and technical and administrative approvals to quality implementation, every stage is carried out systematically.
Facilities from Bunk Beds to Solar Rooftops
Rs. 1.50 crore approved by the State Government will be used to develop facilities based on students’ needs. These include bunk beds with mattresses, student benches, washing machines, solar rooftops and RO systems. Bunk beds and mattresses for students staying in Ashramshalas and hostels will strengthen residential facilities, while adequate benches in classrooms will provide a better learning environment. Washing machines will support the day-to-day management of hostels, and RO systems will help ensure access to clean drinking water. Solar rooftops will also encourage the use of renewable energy. Thus, the initiative focuses not only on student welfare but also on energy conservation and environmental sustainability.
Prioritising Holistic Development of Tribal Students
For students studying in Ashramshalas, education is not limited to the classroom. Their daily needs and residential facilities are also an important part of their overall educational experience. Providing good accommodation, clean drinking water, essential furniture and daily-use facilities will help create a better learning environment for these students. Rs. 1.50 crore approved by the State Government is an important step towards providing students from tribal areas with a better and more supportive educational environment. It also reflects the ‘New Gujarat Pattern’ approach of prioritising development works based on local needs.
Implementation with Quality and Transparency
The approved works will be carried out as per the State Government’s procurement policy, financial regulations and prescribed procedures. Quality will be ensured at every stage, from the procurement and installation of equipment to its use. Student safety will be prioritised during the installation of machinery. For equipment such as washing machines, suppliers will provide necessary training and demonstrations to staff to ensure proper use. Warranty, guarantee and after-sales service will also be taken into consideration. Transparency will be maintained by recording all purchased materials in stock registers and conducting regular inspections.
Thus, following technical approval and administrative approval of Rs. 1.50 crore, the development of facilities at Ashramshalas and hostels in Aravalli will now gain further momentum. The addition of facilities such as better educational and residential infrastructure, clean drinking water, sanitation, modern equipment and renewable energy will bring positive changes to the lives of tribal students.
