Lucknow, October 2026 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to take swift action to provide relief to people affected by heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh. He has instructed them to complete the assessment of loss of human lives, livestock and crops caused by heavy rainfall within 24 hours and ensure compensation for those affected as per the prescribed norms. He has also directed officials to carry out relief and rescue operations on a war footing in waterlogged areas, restore power supply and ensure time-bound measures to drain water from affected localities. He emphasised that the government stands firmly with those affected.

The Chief Minister has instructed officials to assess the damage caused by heavy rainfall with sensitivity and urgency so that affected families do not have to wait unnecessarily for assistance.

In addition to taking necessary action in cases involving loss of human lives and livestock, officials have been directed to assess crop damage as well. Relief operations must be prioritised after assessing the situation in areas affected by heavy rainfall.

To ensure the smooth functioning of electricity supply in areas affected by rainfall, the Chief Minister has directed officials to restore uninterrupted power supply within the next 48 hours. The concerned officials have been asked to work swiftly to remove disruptions in electricity supply.

The Chief Minister has also directed officials to expedite relief and rescue operations to drain water from waterlogged areas and safely evacuate people stranded there. He has asked officials to work with urgency to complete these operations within 24 hours.

Emphasising the need to prioritise drainage and public safety in affected areas, the CM has directed that relief operations be conducted with all necessary resources.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed district magistrates and officials of the concerned departments to visit affected areas and assess the situation on the ground. The Chief Minister reiterated that the government stands with farmers and the general public.
