Directives Issued to Coordinate with the Higher and Technical Education Department
Mumbai, September 2026: Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare has directed officials to expedite the ambitious project to establish the Maharshi Karve Model College at Shrivardhan in Raigad district through the SNDT Women’s University. She instructed officials to coordinate with the Higher and Technical Education Department and take all necessary steps to ensure the project is completed at the earliest.
A meeting to review the pending works of the Maharshi Karve Model College was held at Mantralaya under the chairpersonship of Minister Aditi Tatkare. During the meeting, officials from SNDT Women’s University briefed her on the current status of the project, progress of construction, funding requirements and various administrative matters.
Tatkare said the college would provide accessible, quality and affordable higher education locally to girls from Shrivardhan and surrounding areas. She directed officials to immediately resolve all pending administrative issues and accelerate the remaining work on the project.
She assured that there would be no shortage of funds required for completing the project. The minister also expressed confidence that the government would take a positive view of the regularisation of employees currently working at the college and directed officials to submit a proposal in this regard.
The meeting also reviewed the construction of the college, release of funds, required approvals and the further course of action to ensure timely completion of the project.
