A Healthy Chhattisgarh Is the Strong Foundation of a Developed Chhattisgarh, Says Chief Minister

Raipur, October 2026 : Expanding healthcare services across Chhattisgarh and ensuring access to better treatment for every citizen are among the state government's top priorities. Healthy citizens form the strong foundation of an empowered society and a developed Chhattisgarh. The government is committed to ensuring that people receive timely and quality healthcare not only in cities but also in villages, tribal regions and remote areas.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai made these remarks while distributing appointment letters to 520 newly recruited employees across various categories in the Health Department at a programme held at the Chief Minister's Residential Office in Civil Lines, Raipur, on Tuesday.

Congratulating the newly appointed employees and wishing them a bright future, Chief Minister Sai urged them to discharge their responsibilities with a spirit of service, sensitivity and complete dedication.

He said that getting an opportunity to serve in the Health Department was, in itself, an important responsibility. Every patient visiting a hospital, along with their family members, looks towards healthcare workers with great hope and trust. Therefore, the responsibility of every employee associated with healthcare services is not limited to performing official duties; treating patients with sensitivity and a spirit of service is equally important.

The Chief Minister told the newly appointed employees that there was no greater task than serving patients. They should not consider their duties merely a job but should regard them as an act of public service and a noble deed, performing them with complete honesty, commitment and dedication.

He said that good behaviour, prompt action and a spirit of service among healthcare workers would further strengthen the trust of patients and their families in the healthcare system.

Chief Minister Sai said good health was the foremost requirement for progress and success in life. A developed Chhattisgarh could be built only on the foundation of a healthy Chhattisgarh. Only when citizens are healthy can they contribute to the progress of their families, society and the state to their full potential.

With this vision, the state government is continuously working not only to expand healthcare infrastructure but also to increase the availability of human resources in the health sector.

He said that healthcare facilities had expanded significantly during the 25 years since the formation of Chhattisgarh. The state government is accelerating this progress by establishing new medical colleges, developing modern medical facilities in hospitals, ensuring the availability of essential equipment and resources, and strengthening the healthcare workforce.

“Our objective is to develop a healthcare system in which every citizen of the state can access affordable and quality treatment whenever required,” he said.

520 Newly Appointed Healthcare Workers to Serve in 14 Districts

The 520 posts filled across various categories in the Health Department include 208 staff nurses, 95 male rural health coordinators, 94 female rural health coordinators, 25 pharmacists, 50 ward boys and 48 ward attendants.

The newly appointed employees will serve in 14 districts of the state. These appointments will increase the availability of essential human resources for healthcare operations in the respective districts and help improve medical facilities for patients.

Chief Minister Sai said that most of the 14 districts where the newly appointed employees would be posted had substantial tribal populations, making their responsibilities even more significant.

He noted that the continuous expansion of healthcare facilities in regions such as Bastar and Surguja was bringing about positive changes. The state government's clear objective is to ensure that geographical distance does not become an obstacle for any citizen seeking better medical treatment.

The Chief Minister said healthcare workers serving in remote and tribal areas were an important link between the government and the general public. Work carried out in these regions with sensitivity and a spirit of service could make a significant difference to the lives of many families.

He urged the newly appointed employees to uphold the trust of the people wherever they were posted and play an active role in further improving healthcare services.
