New Delhi, September 2026 : With Ganesh Chaturthi approaching, devotees in Delhi can now choose from a wide range of attractive and eco-friendly Ganesh idols. An exhibition and sale of Ganesh idols is currently underway at the Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation’s (MSSIDC) ‘M-Haaty Emporium’ on Baba Kharak Singh Marg in Delhi.
Organised with the objective of promoting Maharashtra’s traditional idol-making art while making eco-friendly Ganesh idols available to devotees in Delhi, the exhibition will remain open daily from 10 am to 7 pm until September 15, 2026. Notably, the Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation has been organising Ganesh idol exhibitions in Delhi for the past 30 years. The initiative has consistently helped showcase Maharashtra’s rich art and cultural heritage in the national capital.
The exhibition centre was inaugurated on Wednesday by Supriya Devasthali, Additional Controller General of Accounts, Government of India. Manisha Pingle, Public Relations Officer at the Maharashtra Information Centre, Ganesh idol artists Sapna Jadhav and Veena Bhat, along with their team, were present on the occasion.
This year’s exhibition features more than 500 attractive eco-friendly Ganesh idols crafted by women artisans under the guidance of renowned idol makers Sapna Jadhav and Veena Bhat from Pen. Made from natural clay (shadu mati) and paper pulp, the idols are available in various sizes ranging from six inches to three feet. Prices range from Rs 1,500 to Rs 25,000.
Along with Ganesh idols, the exhibition also offers a variety of puja essentials, attractive decorative items, traditional Paithani torans, seating mats and other articles used for worship. Another special attraction is the opportunity for devotees to enjoy hot, freshly prepared traditional Maharashtrian puran poli at the venue.
The exhibition provides Delhi residents with an opportunity to celebrate an eco-friendly Ganesh festival while experiencing Maharashtra’s traditional art, handicrafts and culinary culture.
