Eknath Shinde Condemns Firing at Tiger Shroff’s Car, Warns Gangs Against Threatening Mumbai’s Safety

Mumbai, October 2026 : Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday strongly condemned the firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai’s Juhu area, warning that anyone attempting to disturb law and order in the state would face strict action.

Describing the incident as “deeply concerning” and “condemnable”, Shinde said the safety of every citizen, irrespective of their public profile, remained the government’s foremost priority. He added that the police had launched an extensive operation to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Speaking to the media, Shinde said he had spoken to the Mumbai Police Commissioner following the incident. According to him, Tiger Shroff had also contacted the commissioner.

“The Mumbai Police Commissioner has formed several teams to track down and apprehend those responsible,” Shinde said, adding that the government would respond firmly to any attempt to threaten public safety.

“Our current priority is to keep Mumbai and its citizens safe. Whether it is a celebrity or an ordinary citizen, ensuring their safety is the responsibility of both the police and the government. There will be no laxity in this regard, and no gang, whoever they may be, will be spared,” he said.

Shinde also referred to the Mumbai Police’s crackdown on organised crime during the 1990s, indicating that the authorities would take a firm approach against criminal groups involved in threats and violence.

Three Men Open Fire in Juhu

The incident occurred on Sunday evening when three motorcycle-borne men allegedly opened fire at Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu locality. The actor was reportedly safe, while his driver sustained injuries.

The incident triggered concern over the security of public figures and the broader law-and-order situation in the financial capital.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also directed the Mumbai Police Commissioner to conduct an immediate investigation and take strict action against those found responsible.

Police teams are working to identify and apprehend the suspects. Further details about the motive behind the firing and the identities of those involved were awaited.

Film Industry Expresses Concern

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) expressed deep anguish over the incident, stating that the attack on Shroff should not be viewed in isolation.

In a post on social media, the association questioned the safety of ordinary residents if a prominent actor could be targeted in Mumbai.

“Today it is Tiger Shroff. Who is next? When a celebrity is not safe in the heart of Mumbai, how can an ordinary Mumbaikar feel safe?” the association said.

The incident has renewed calls for stronger action against organised criminal networks and improved security for residents and public figures.

The state government has maintained that those responsible will face legal consequences. The investigation is expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting, identify the attackers and determine whether the incident was connected to any organised criminal activity.
