Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav arrived in Chitrakoot from Rewa on Sunday and took stock of the situation following the flood disaster in the area. He visited the relief camp set up near the ancient Mukhar Vind temple and met all the flood-affected families to enquire about their well-being. The Chief Minister distributed relief materials among the affected people and said, “Our entire government stands with you in this hour of crisis.”
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the Mandakini River flood caused extensive damage, with floodwaters entering homes. Chitrakoot’s infrastructure has also suffered damage. He assured all those affected that the government and administration stand firmly with them in this hour of disaster and that they would be compensated for their losses.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that all senior administrative officers would remain in Chitrakoot until normalcy is restored and would oversee relief efforts for the affected people. At the relief camp, the Chief Minister spoke to Shri Raju Singh, a devotee from Baberu in Banda, who said that he had come with 20 people to seek darshan of Kamtanath Swami. They were unable to return home due to the floodwaters. He said the administration had made adequate arrangements for food, water and refreshments for all of them at the shelter. The Chief Minister also distributed clothes, household items, foodgrains and other relief materials among flood-affected people at the camp.
CM Undertakes On-Foot Inspection of Waterlogged Areas
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav undertook an on-foot inspection of flood-affected areas in Ramdham locality of Chitrakoot town. Walking through muddy and waterlogged
roads, he reached the homes of affected residents and assessed the damage caused by the flooding. He visited the homes of Shri Ramphal Garg and Shri Kismat Kumar Garg, enquired about the losses caused by waterlogging and interacted with the affected families, assuring them of all possible assistance. The Chief Minister also visited Agrahari Kirana Store near Madhav Dharamshala at Siyaram Kutir on the Satna-Chitrakoot road and met shopkeeper Shri Kamta Prasad Gupta. He assessed the damage caused to the shop after floodwater entered the premises. He assured the affected people that the government stood with them during this difficult time and that all possible relief and assistance would be provided to them as per the prescribed norms.Chief Minister Dr. Yadav sought information from district officials about the ongoing relief and rescue operations in flood-affected areas and directed them to ensure all necessary facilities for every affected family. He instructed the district administration to provide relief assistance with utmost promptness, dedication and sensitivity. The Chief Minister emphasised that there should be no shortcomings in the relief operations.

CM Interacts with Media Representatives
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told media representatives after distributing relief assistance and conducting an on-foot inspection of the town that continuous heavy rainfall in Chitrakoot over the past few days had raised the water levels of the Semrawal and Mandakini rivers, resulting in flooding. Several areas of the town were inundated, damaging household belongings. He said that the district administration’s prompt response had helped prevent any loss of life so far.
Relief and rescue operations are continuing, and essential relief materials are being delivered to the affected people. The Chief Minister said that the floods had caused damage, the extent of which was being assessed. All concerned district-level officials are on the ground, while the administration is continuously monitoring the flood situation.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed all district officials to immediately ensure food, clothing, drinking water, medical care and other essential facilities for flood-affected people. He said that he had personally stayed in Rewa on Saturday night and conducted a detailed review of the flood situation in Satna and Rewa districts. He said that heavy rainfall in Chitrakoot and Satna had caused the Semrawal and Mandakini rivers to swell, resulting in a severe flood situation. The Chief Minister said that the reassuring aspect was that the incident occurred during the daytime and, in view of the weather forecast, the district administration was already on full alert. Due to the government’s vigilance and preparedness and the prompt response of the district administration, no loss of life had occurred so far.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the immediate focus was on further accelerating relief and rescue operations so that, once the water level recedes, all affected people can be safely taken back to their homes. He said that the flood damage would be assessed and all affected families would be provided necessary assistance by the administration. After personally meeting flood-affected citizens, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed district officials to ensure that dry ration and other essential relief materials reached all affected people. The Chief Minister further said that a detailed survey would be conducted to assess livestock losses and other damages suffered by the affected people. Relief and financial assistance would be provided as per the prescribed norms.
