Lunglei, September 2026: The Final Electoral Rolls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), 2026, with 1 July 2026 as the qualifying date, were published today by District Election Officer (DEO) Pi Navneet Mann for all six Assembly Constituencies of Lunglei District—30-Lunglei North, 31-Lunglei East, 32-Lunglei West, 33–Lunglei South, 34-Thorang and 35-West Tuipui.
The SIR was undertaken with the objective of ensuring the inclusion of all eligible electors and the exclusion of ineligible electors, through a transparent, systematic and participatory verification process.
During SIR 2026, a total of 21,552 notices were issued across the six Assembly Constituencies—2,261 for No Mapping, 18,441 for Mapping Discrepancy and 850 under other categories. All 21,552 cases were taken up for hearing, providing the concerned electors an opportunity to present their case and submit relevant documents. Following scrutiny and verification, 3,059 electors were found ineligible for inclusion in the Final Electoral Roll, accounting for 14.19% of the notices issued and 3.10% of the total electors in the Draft Roll.

Following the revision process, a total of 1,739 new electors were enrolled through Form 6, comprising 863 males and 876 females. In addition, electors were included through shifting applications under Form 8. The total number of electors in the in the Final Electoral Roll is 97,172, representing a net decrease of 1,636 electors (1.66%). A total of 1,916 inclusions through new enrolment and shifting and 3,552 deletions were made during the revision. Deletions were carried out after due verification in accordance with the prescribed provisions, including cases relating to death, permanent shifting, duplicate/repeated entries, migration and other cases found ineligible. The Final Electoral Roll contains 479 Service Voters in Lunglei District.

The Final Electoral Rolls are available for inspection at the Office of the District Election Officer, the offices of the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in their respective localities and villages.
The District Election Officer appeals to all eligible citizens to verify their names and particulars in the Electoral Roll and, if required, approach the concerned ERO/AERO or the designated election office for any clarification, appeal or electoral service.
