Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Baba Mahakal has determined the time allotted to every individual’s life. The deeds of every individual are judged by future generations. Public leader and social worker late Raghuveer Singh Babuji made an invaluable contribution to the country during the freedom struggle by following the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. In his youth, he inspired his associates to participate in the freedom struggle. Late Babuji travelled a long public life journey, from the Municipal Corporation to the Legislative Assembly, alongside late Madhavrao Scindia. He was always at the forefront of the struggle for people’s rights. Through his work for the Gwalior region, late Babuji set an example of dedicated social service. During his student days, he also encouraged other children to take up wrestling. The statue of Babuji installed in Gwalior will continue to inspire everyone to follow his ideals.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav unveiled the statue of late former MLA and former Leader of the Opposition in the Municipal Corporation Council, Babu Raghuveer Singh, at Akashvani Tiraha in Gwalior on Wednesday. The Chief Minister announced that Akashvani Tiraha would henceforth be renamed after late Babu Raghuveer Singh.
Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the occasion was extremely emotional for him. Late Raghuveer Singh Babuji had worked alongside his father as a Gwalior MLA. Babuji always worked above party politics. Shri Scindia said that he had been fortunate to receive Babuji’s guidance and affection since childhood. At the age of 14, Babuji began serving freedom fighters. After studying agriculture, he made outstanding contributions to farmers’ welfare and social welfare. He was gentle and compassionate by nature, but remained firm in his principles. Babuji was a true social worker and would always remain a source of inspiration for the people of Gwalior. He said that it was due to the tireless efforts of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav that the day had finally come when a statue of late Raghuveer Singh Babuji had been installed in Gwalior. He added that Chief Minister Dr. Yadav always stood by the truth.
Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that late Raghuveer Singh Babuji had made significant efforts throughout his life for the welfare of workers. He described his association with Babuji while serving as a Municipal Councillor as an unforgettable experience.
Shri Ram Sundar Yadav said that the occasion was deeply emotional for him and his family as the statue of his father, late Babu Raghuveer Singh, was unveiled. He said that the family’s third generation was fully dedicated to public service. The occasion also provided an opportunity to acquaint people with the life and personality of late Babu Raghuveer Singh. Influenced by Mahatma Gandhi, late Babuji had contributed to the freedom struggle as a child freedom fighter. During his political career, he raised the voice of every section of society, including farmers and the poor.
Minister for New and Renewable Energy Shri Rakesh Shukla, Gwalior MP Shri Bharat Singh Kushwah, Rajya Sabha Member Shri Ashok Singh, MLA Shri Pritam Singh Lodhi, MLA Shri Mahendra Singh Yadav, Madhya Pradesh State Forest Development Corporation Chairman Shri Ramniwas Rawat, other public representatives and a large number of citizens were present at the statue unveiling programme.
