31st Instalment Boosts Confidence; Women Empowered Through Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Says Beneficiary Geeta
Korba, September 2026: For Smt Geeta Nayak of Korkoma village in Korba development block, the Rs 1,000 deposited every month into her bank account under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana has now become more than just financial assistance. It has become a source of self-reliance and confidence.
With the 31st instalment of the scheme credited to her account, Geeta is happy and relieved. She said the welfare scheme of the Vishnu Deo Sai government is bringing positive changes to the lives of women across the state.
Geeta said, “Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Rs 1,000 is directly credited to my bank account every month. Now the 31st instalment has also been deposited. This amount helps me meet various small and major needs of myself and my family. Earlier, I had to think even about small expenses, but now receiving money directly in my account gives me financial support.”
She said her husband, Shri Nilamber Nayak, is engaged in farming. Amid the family’s needs and the education of their children, the financial assistance received under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana has proved extremely useful.
Geeta uses the money to meet her children’s educational requirements, provide nutritious food for the family and take care of household needs. The availability of food grains at prescribed rates through the ration card has also provided relief to the family.
“Receiving money in my account every month makes me feel that I am also contributing to meeting my family’s needs. This has increased my confidence, and I no longer have to depend on others for small requirements. The Mahtari Vandan assistance becomes a support for me during difficult times,” she said.
Geeta said that the direct transfer of financial assistance into women’s bank accounts has strengthened their sense of economic security. As women increasingly participate in household decisions and contribute towards meeting family needs, they are gradually moving towards self-reliance.
For Geeta Nayak, the scheme has therefore become not only a source of financial assistance but also a means of gaining dignity and confidence.
She said, “Vishnu Bhaiya’s government is running many good schemes for women. The Mahtari Vandan Yojana provides us financial support every month. After 31 instalments, this assistance has now become a part of our lives. I sincerely thank Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for implementing such a useful scheme to help women progress and become self-reliant.”
