Major Revelation in Drug Money Case Deepens Troubles for Akali Dal (Badal) Leader Bikram Singh Majithia

October 2026 | Chandigarh: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau’s investigation into a case involving Akali Dal (Badal) leader Bikram Singh Majithia has reportedly uncovered a drug money trail worth ₹736.96 crore. The alleged financial transactions include ₹161 crore in unexplained cash deposits, ₹141 crore transferred through foreign entities and an additional ₹236 crore in funds deposited into company accounts without clear explanations.

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Wednesday filed a nearly 40,000-page chargesheet against Bikram Singh Majithia in the alleged drug money case. The investigation has brought his financial network, transactions involving liquor companies and alleged links with international drug traffickers into focus.

Records from an earlier case have also raised questions about his alleged connections with drug suspects Satpreet Singh alias ‘Satta’ and Parminder Singh alias ‘Pindi’. These include allegations that Majithia used his vehicle to transport them during his tenure as a minister.

The investigation has examined financial transactions involving companies linked to Majithia, with Saraya Industries emerging as a key focus. Transactions involving liquor companies, suspected foreign entities and business associates associated with the Akali Dal (Badal) leader have also come under scrutiny.

Vigilance Bureau Identifies Drug Money Trail

According to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in June 2025, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau announced that its investigation into a 2021 FIR registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, had uncovered suspected drug money laundering.

The party said the Bureau’s findings detailed ₹161 crore in unaccounted cash deposits into accounts of companies allegedly controlled by Bikram Singh Majithia, ₹141 crore transferred through suspicious foreign entities and an additional ₹236 crore in funds that were not disclosed in the companies’ financial statements.

The Bureau reportedly stated that its investigation indicated that funds had been routed through companies linked to Majithia, including Saraya Industries.

Links with ‘Satta’ and ‘Pindi’ Back Under Scrutiny

AAP said the investigation had renewed attention on records from an earlier case involving Satpreet Singh alias ‘Satta’ and Parminder Singh alias ‘Pindi’, whose names surfaced during investigations into Punjab’s synthetic drug case.

Court records from the earlier case indicate that investigators examined Majithia’s alleged links with the two individuals, including questions relating to the use of vehicles and security arrangements.

These connections formed part of a broader examination of the relationships and circumstances investigated in connection with the drug case.

Financial Transactions Involving Liquor Companies

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has also examined financial transactions between liquor businesses and entities linked to Bikram Singh Majithia.

On November 30, 2025, the Bureau arrested Harpreet Singh Gulati, described as a close associate of Majithia. According to the Bureau, its investigation uncovered financial transactions between companies associated with Gulati and entities linked to Majithia.

The companies named in the investigation include Akash Spirit, UV Enterprises and AD Enterprises.

Investigators have examined the nature of these transactions, their connections with liquor businesses and the commercial basis of the financial arrangements.

Separate Investigation Details ₹736.96 Crore in Financial Transactions

AAP said an investigation linked to a 2025 FIR had documented additional cash deposits, benefits received from foreign entities, unexplained funds deposited into company accounts, unusual gains recorded by another company and unexplained increases in immovable property holdings.

The findings form part of the wider examination of the alleged financial network and the movement of funds through companies associated with Majithia.

Financial Network Linked to Bikram Singh Majithia Under Investigation

AAP said the investigation had examined company deposits, suspected drug money laundering, transactions with foreign entities, transfers involving liquor businesses and the movement of funds through companies linked to Bikram Singh Majithia.

The financial trail, corporate transactions and alleged connections identified by investigators remain central to the case.

The allegations are subject to judicial scrutiny, and the final legal outcome will be determined through the court process.
