Jaipur, October 2026: Dr Neeraj K. Pawan, Director General of the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute, inaugurated the Rajeevika Diwali Fair on Wednesday by lighting a ceremonial lamp at the institute’s campus in Jaipur.
The fair will be held from October 28 to November 4, 2026, and will remain open daily from 10 am to 9 pm.
During the inauguration, Dr Pawan visited stalls set up by women belonging to Rajeevika’s self-help groups (SHGs) and learned about their handcrafted products. Appreciating their skills and creativity, he encouraged the women and extended his best wishes to them.
Dr Pawan said the Diwali fair would provide women associated with self-help groups with opportunities to showcase and market their products, while helping them access better employment and livelihood opportunities.
He added that such initiatives recognise women’s skills and creativity while connecting their products with a wider market.
More than 100 stalls showcase handicrafts and traditional food
Dr Pawan appealed to Jaipur residents to visit the fair, encourage the participating SHG women and purchase their handmade products from the more than 100 stalls set up at the venue.
The fair features a variety of products, including terracotta items, wooden products, embroidered goods and other handicrafts, along with a wide range of food items.
He urged people to celebrate the festive season by visiting the fair, enjoying traditional delicacies and purchasing handmade decorative items, while supporting local products and women-led livelihoods.
