Aizawl, August 2026:The Organising Committee for the Winter Festival 2026 was convened today at the P&PI Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Lalduhoma.
The Chief Minister stated, "We are actively working to establish Mizoram as the 'Winter Capital of India,' and our most prominent initiative toward this goal is the Winter Festival. It will serve as an instrument to showcase and boost Mizoram's entrepreneurship. Although it is spearheaded by the Tourism Department, it requires convergence and collaboration across all departments, which is why we have convened officials from various departments. We want each department to actively explore and take charge of what can be accomplished within their respective domains."
Planned under the ambit of Winter Festival 2026 are Angling Event under Fisheries Department, Bamboo Innovation Exhibition under Commerce and Industries Department, Photography Exhibition under Information & Public Relations Department, Christmas street decoration, Christmas Parade and many other exciting events.
The meeting was attended by Tourism Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar along with officials from various government departments.
