Online applications invited for 1,156 Mechanical and 380 Electrical posts
Shortlisting to be conducted based on PET-2025 scores
Lucknow, October 2026 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state has taken another important step toward providing transparent, merit-based employment opportunities for youth.
Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has issued separate advertisements to recruit for 1,536 vacant posts of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) and Junior Engineer (Electrical). This will provide a new opportunity for technically qualified youth in the state to enter government service.
On Monday, the Commission issued an advertisement for 1,156 Junior Engineer (Mechanical) posts and another for 380 Junior Engineer (Electrical) posts. Online registration and fee submission for the Junior Engineer (Mechanical) Main Examination will begin on November 3, 2026. Candidates can submit their online applications and fees until November 25, 2026. The last date for fee reconciliation and permitted corrections in the application is December 2, 2026.
Online application process for the Junior Engineer (Electrical) Main Examination will begin on November 6, 2026. The last date for submitting applications and fees is November 27, 2026, while the last date for fee reconciliation and application corrections has been fixed as December 4, 2026.
For both recruitments, only those candidates will be eligible to apply who have appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET)-2025 and have been issued a PET-2025 scorecard by the Commission.
Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Examination based on their normalized PET-2025 scores and merit. The Commission has clarified that candidates whose actual or normalized PET-2025 scores are zero or below zero (i.e., negative) will not be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
Under CM Yogi's leadership, the state government continues to emphasize transparency, fairness, and merit-based selection in government recruitment. With the recruitment process beginning for 1,536 Junior Engineer posts, technically skilled youth in the state will get an opportunity to serve in government departments. At the same time, the technical human resources of various departments will also be strengthened.
Commission has also granted conditional permission to candidates marked under the Under Investigation (UI) and Provisional categories in the PET-2025 results to apply for the Main Examinations until it reaches a final decision. However, the shortlisting of such candidates and further action related to their selection will remain subject to the outcome of the ongoing investigation at the Commission level.
