NICDIT Apex Monitoring Authority Meeting Held in New Delhi

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav outlined the State Government’s vision for industrial growth, investment, industrial corridors and modern industrial infrastructure at the third meeting of the Apex Monitoring Authority of the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) in New Delhi. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted the investment potential of Madhya Pradesh, facilities available to industries and industrial projects being developed through coordination between the Central and State Governments. The State’s efforts to accelerate industrial development, create an investment-friendly environment and develop modern, world-class and investment-ready industrial infrastructure were also highlighted.

Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister and Chairperson of the Apex Monitoring Authority Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal and Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog Shri Ashok Kumar Lahiri were present at the meeting. Chief Ministers, Industry Ministers and senior officials from various states also presented their respective visions on industrial development and investment.

Aim to Establish Madhya Pradesh as a Major Industrial and Investment Hub

The State Government aims to establish Madhya Pradesh as one of the country’s leading industrial and investment hubs. Industrial development, investment and employment generation are being continuously accelerated through modern industrial infrastructure, investment-friendly policies, plug-and-play facilities and efforts to provide essential infrastructure and amenities. The presentation of Madhya Pradesh’s industrial development plans at the meeting highlighted the State’s investment potential and its commitment to expanding industrial infrastructure.

11 Industrial Park Proposals under Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana

Under the Government of India’s Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA), Madhya Pradesh has submitted proposals for 11 industrial parks under Phase-I, Round-I. The proposals envisage the development of industrial infrastructure across a total area of 9,047.08 acres, with a combined DPR cost of ₹8,144.35 crore. These industrial parks are proposed as investment-ready destinations equipped with plug-and-play facilities. The projects are expected to attract new investments and create extensive employment opportunities in the State.

The industrial parks proposed by Madhya Pradesh under Round-I have been distributed across different geographical regions of the State to ensure balanced industrial development and equitable benefits. The 11 proposed projects include Avantika Industrial Centre (Ujjain), Bhensola (Dhar), Piplrawan-Palikalan (Dewas-Shajapur), IR Ratlam-Palsodi, Ashta Industrial Cluster (Sehore), Maswasi Grant (Sagar), Chainpura (Guna), Mohna (Gwalior), Dharampura (Jabalpur), Simra (Katni) and Shivsagar (Rewa).

The projects cover a combined area of more than 9,000 acres. The Bhensola Industrial Park has been proposed as a textile park and will serve as an extension of the country’s largest PM MITRA Park in Dhar, covering the entire textile value chain. In addition, these industrial parks will support sectors including pharmaceuticals, automobiles, renewable energy equipment, semiconductors, IT and ITeS, generating extensive direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Special Focus on Modern Facilities for Women Workers

The State Government is also making special efforts to ensure convenience, safety and a conducive working environment for women workers in industrial areas. Hostels equipped with day-care centres, CCTV-based security systems, healthcare facilities, essential utilities, canteens and other amenities are being developed. These facilities aim to increase women’s participation in industrial areas while providing them with a safe and better working environment.

Industrial Corridors and Nodes to Give Fresh Impetus to Investment

Industrial corridors being developed in the State and industrial nodes being established across different regions are giving a new impetus to Madhya Pradesh’s industrial infrastructure. The synergy between these projects with the support of the Central Government and the State’s investment-friendly policies will play an important role in expediting the implementation of investment proposals on the ground.

Senior Union Ministers Also Address the Meeting

Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister and Chairperson of the Apex Monitoring Authority Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman delivered a special address at the meeting. Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal and NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Shri Ashok Kumar Lahiri also addressed the meeting.

DPIIT Secretary and NICDIT Chairman Shri Amardeep Singh Bhatia delivered the welcome address. This was followed by a presentation on industrial corridors and projects by NICDIT Chief Executive Officer Shri Rajat Kumar Saini.
