Raipur, September 2026: The rich folk traditions, ballads and cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh will take centre stage during the three-day ‘Lok Rang Parv’, being organised by the Culture Department of the Chhattisgarh government under its Departmental Events 2026 programme.
The cultural festival will be held from September 6 to 8 at the Open-Air Stage in the Mahant Ghasidas Museum Complex, Civil Lines, Raipur. Performances will begin at 7 pm each day.
The festival will bring together a wide range of Chhattisgarh’s traditional folk forms on a single platform. Audiences will witness vibrant performances of folk ballads, theatre, songs and dances that reflect the cultural identity and rich traditions of the state.
From Bharthari and Pandavani to Panthi and Karma
Over the three days, renowned folk forms including Bharthari, Pandavani, Dhola Maru, Lorik Chanda, Nacha and Gammat will be among the major attractions. Traditional folk dances such as Sua, Karma and Panthi will also be performed, offering audiences an insight into the state’s vibrant folk life.
The festival will also feature traditional singing styles including Bans Geet, Dewar Geet, Dadariya, Jas Geet and Sanskar Geet. These performances will showcase the diversity and depth of Chhattisgarh’s folk traditions.
Platform for Folk Artists, Heritage for the Next Generation
The Lok Rang Parv is not merely an entertainment programme but an effort to preserve Chhattisgarh’s centuries-old folk cultural heritage and pass it on to younger generations.
Through folk songs, ballads and traditional dance and theatre forms, audiences will get a glimpse into the rural and tribal life of the state, its social traditions and popular beliefs.

The Culture Department said the festival aims to encourage folk arts and artists while connecting citizens with their cultural roots. From September 6 to 8, audiences will be able to experience a diverse mix of Chhattisgarh’s folk traditions from 7 pm onwards.
Through the Lok Rang Parv, Raipur’s open-air stage will present a vivid picture of Chhattisgarh’s living folk culture, bringing together the storytelling tradition of folk ballads, the melodies of folk songs, the energy of traditional dances and the resonance of indigenous musical instruments to showcase the state’s rich cultural identity.
