Rajasthan Chief Secretary Reviews Power Generation, Urges Advance Planning for Rising Energy Demand

Jaipur, October 2026: Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Wednesday reviewed the functioning of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited and Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited, with discussions focusing on the state’s power generation, progress of ongoing projects and preparations to meet future energy requirements.

During the review meeting, Srinivas said the state’s electricity demand is continuously increasing and stressed the need to enhance generation capacity while ensuring that ongoing projects are completed on schedule.

He directed officials to regularly review the progress of power projects and resolve any issues affecting implementation through coordination with the concerned departments.

The meeting included a detailed review of various power projects being undertaken by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. Officials briefed the Chief Secretary on the current status of the projects and the targets set for their completion.

Srinivas stressed that there should be no unnecessary delays in project execution and instructed officials to ensure regular monitoring of work at every level.

He also reviewed the activities of Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited. Discussions covered the state’s current and projected electricity requirements, power procurement and overall energy availability.

The Chief Secretary said arrangements should be made in advance to meet future energy requirements. He directed officials to regularly assess the gap between demand and availability and take timely decisions according to emerging needs.

Focus on Renewable Energy

Srinivas also emphasised the need to make greater use of Rajasthan’s strong potential in renewable energy, particularly solar and wind power.

He said the state’s advantageous position in these sectors should be fully utilised and directed officials to expedite renewable energy projects. He also stressed the importance of adopting modern technology in the energy sector to improve efficiency and strengthen the state’s power infrastructure.

The meeting was attended by Energy Department Secretary Aarti Dogra, Managing Director of Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited Nakate Shivprasad Madan, and senior officials from the concerned departments and corporations.
