Union Minister Lays Foundation Stone of ‘Anandam Vridh Seva Aangan’ in Kaithal
Chandigarh, August 2026 – Union Minister of Power and Housing and Urban Affairs, Sh. Manohar Lal, said that serving others is the highest duty and everyone should, according to their means, extend support to the needy and deserving, both within their families and in society.
The Union Minister was addressing a programme organised by Sarv Jan Sukhay Trust, Kaithal, at RKSD College on Sunday to mark the laying of the foundation stone of ‘Anandam Vridh Seva Aangan’, an old-age home to be constructed at village Dayora for the welfare and care of senior citizens.
Sh. Manohar Lal unveiled the foundation plaque in the presence of Haryana Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker, Sh. Krishan Lal Middha, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, MP, Sh. Naveen Jindal and other dignitaries. He later laid the foundation stone of the facility at village Deohra and paid floral tributes to Prof. S.N. Mangla, who had envisioned the old-age home and donated his property for the initiative.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that the spirit of service should become an integral part of life and children should be taught this value from an early age. He said that supporting the needy, helping patients, establishing skill centres and guiding youth in the right direction are all forms of service.
The Union Minister said that service should always be selfless. Referring to the tradition of contributing a part of one’s earnings towards social welfare, he urged people to set aside a fixed share of their income for such causes and inspire the younger generation to embrace the spirit of giving.
Union Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker, Sh. Krishan Lal Middha and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, announced financial assistance of Rs. 51 lakh for the old-age home.
