Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav was felicitated by the Police Department at Ravindra Bhavan on Monday. Police officers and personnel expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for initiating large-scale recruitment in the Police Department and providing the benefit of long-pending promotions.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said on the occasion that the government has resolved to strengthen both the police force and the morale of personnel. He said that police personnel endure every injury and stress while maintaining law and order, but it is equally important that they have the assurance that their hard work will be recognised and rewarded.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said a record 27,534 police officers and personnel across 58 cadres of the Police Department have been promoted. This includes 12,928 constables promoted as head constables and 5,171 head constables promoted as assistant sub-inspectors at the field level. He said that reopening the promotions path has significantly benefited the Department.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, highlighting new employment opportunities for youth, said that more than 14,704 candidates have been selected for various posts since 2023, while the recruitment process for 9,751 additional posts is underway. Recruitment for the Police Band and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) is also in its final stage.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced that a new Police Battalion will be established in Khandwa. Three State Industrial Security Forces will be formed in the State, with one force to be constituted in the first phase. He also announced that special companies will be formed for Bharia and Saharia youth, which are among the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the khaki uniform and stars on the shoulders of police personnel symbolise the security and trust of 8.5 crore citizens of Madhya Pradesh. He called upon police personnel to discharge their duties with integrity, sensitivity, discipline and impartiality and to earn people's affection and confidence while instillling fear of the law among criminals.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh Police is earning a distinct identity across the country through patriotism, public service, courage and commitment. He said that Madhya Pradesh Police is among the best police forces in the country and all police personnel deserve appreciation for this achievement. The police have successfully accomplished every responsibility entrusted to them. The Chief Minister noted that the police eliminated the problem of dacoit gangs from the Chambal region and made Madhya Pradesh the first State to become Naxal-free. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said, “The police should discharge their duties, while the government will fulfil its responsibilities towards your families.”Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that police personnel and officers dedicate themselves to their duties with discipline, thereby making their lives meaningful. He cited several distinguished names in the police tradition, including National Security Advisor Shri Ajit Doval, who continues to serve the nation even after retirement. The Chief Minister said that Shri Doval has made commendable contributions towards strengthening national security.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reiterated that the government has extended the benefit of promotion to a record 27,534 officers and personnel across 58 cadres of the Police Department. Police personnel are advancing through their capabilities and qualifications. As many as 30 personnel of the Armed Reserve have been promoted from Inspector to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that more than 14,704 candidates have been selected across various cadres since 2023. Recruitment for the Police Band and FSL is also in its final phase. In 2026, approval has been given for the recruitment of 9,751 police personnel to various posts. He said efforts are underway to complete the remaining recruitment for constable and sub-inspector posts within the next two years. The Madhya Pradesh Police Recruitment Board has been conducting the recruitment process with complete transparency.
Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana said that new rules were prepared in 2025 for recruitment to the posts of Sub-Inspector and Subedar. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav approved the recruitment process for 7,500 new posts. The recruitment process for constable, Subedar and Sub-Inspector posts approved in 2025 is nearing completion. Approval has been received this year for recruitment to 9,662 posts across various categories. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the Hawk Force of the Police Department has played an important role in eliminating Naxalism from Madhya Pradesh. A total of 325 posts have been filled in the State's Hawk Force and 882 posts in the Special Auxiliary Force. The DGP said that discipline holds great importance in the Police Department and parades help strengthen it. Recruitment for the Police Band is underway for this purpose, and all police units will soon be provided with police bands.
FSL plays an important role in implementing the new criminal laws. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has also approved new recruitment for the FSL. Thousands of devotees from across the country will visit Ujjain for Simhastha 2028. The Police Department has made more than 18,000 new appointments over the past two years. These newly recruited personnel will be available for Simhastha duty after completing their training. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav is always committed to the welfare of police personnel.
Promoted DSP posted in Ujjain district, Sushri Deepika Shinde, expressed her gratitude and said that many of her colleagues have been serving for two decades, while several are now nearing retirement. The decision taken by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has brought recognition and dignity to their service. She said she received her promotion after serving as acting DSP for three years.
Inspector Sushri Reena Chauhan said that the commencement of the promotion process in the State has benefited three members of her family. She said promotions instill a sense of dedication and renewed energy among employees.
Trainee DSP Shri Vinay Kumar Daharwal said that he is a resident of Balaghat district. He said that he is a resident of Balaghat district, which was earlier affected by Naxalism. The Trainee DSP completed his schooling in a village and was appointed as a DSP in 2022 after clearing the State Public Service Commission examination. He said his success has brought new enthusiasm among people in the region. He said, “We will translate our spirit of patriotism and service into action on the ground.”
Newly recruited woman constable Sushri Aastha Sharma said that wearing the khaki uniform had been her dream since childhood. She said her selection in the Police Department after marriage and having children is a matter of pride for women.
ADG SAF Shri Chanchal Shekhar read out the felicitation letter for Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Special DG Administration Shri Adarsh Katiyar proposed the vote of thanks.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Shri Sanjay Kumar Shukla, Special DG CID Shri Pankaj Shrivastava, IG Administration Shri Hari Narayanchari Mishra and a large number of police officers and personnel were present at the programme.
