Ahmedabad, Aug 2026 : Today is the third day of the indefinite protest by Aam Aadmi Party’s State President and farmer leader Isudan Gadhvi at Khambhalia in Devbhoomi Dwarka, in which a large number of farmers have reached the Satyagraha camp. In addition to Devbhoomi Dwarka, Jamnagar and Porbandar districts, a large number of farmers from Mahisagar, Narmada, Panchmahal, Bharuch, Amreli and Rajkot have also reached the camp site to extend their support. All the farmers have one demand: that the government immediately declare a drought. In this regard, Isudan Gadhvi appealed to the government and stated that in the Cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday, the government should take a good decision, immediately declare the entire area drought-affected and deposit the relief amount into the farmers’ accounts.
If there had been adequate rainfall so far, farmers could have also cultivated Rabi and Summer crops, but this time even the Kharif crop has failed. Due to the lack of water, there is no question of cultivating Rabi or Summer crops, because of which the condition of farmers will become very miserable in the coming days. Wherever the government has announced the release of water, water has still not been released, therefore, there is a demand that water be released immediately and a drought be declared. For farmers troubled by the shortage of rainfall in Saurashtra, a Havan was organized at Juvangadh village in Khambhalia taluka to appease Varun Dev, in which AAP leaders Isudan Gadhvi and Praveen Ram were present. Isudan Gadhvi participated in the prayers and Havan conducted by the villagers for rainfall and prayed that God look upon the farmers and bless them with good rainfall.
