Minister Nitesh Rane Performs Bhoomi Poojan for New Jetty at Radio Club
Mumbai : Maharashtra Ports Minister Nitesh Rane performed the Bhoomi Poojan for the construction of a passenger jetty and terminal building at Radio Club. The event was attended by Maharashtra Maritime Board’s Chief Executive Officer P. Pradeep, Chief Engineer Surendra Topale, Senior Administrative Officer Pradeep Badiye, Superintendent Engineer Sudhir Devre, and other dignitaries.
The existing jetty at Gateway of India is proving inadequate for passengers, causing difficulties for senior citizens, women, and children. The proposed jetty aims to reduce congestion at the Gateway of India jetty, improving accessibility and comfort for travelers.
Features of the Upcoming Jetty Terminal
The terminal will include:
✅ 80m x 80m area
✅ Amphitheater with a capacity of 350 people
✅ Berthing jetty & approach jetty
✅ Fire safety systems & CCTV surveillance
✅ Landscaping and beautification
A geotechnical survey has been conducted at the site to ensure the project’s feasibility.
