Jaipur, May 2026: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stayed overnight in Bambori village of Pratapgarh district on Wednesday and held an extensive Gram Vikas Chaupal, engaging in heartfelt discussions with women, farmers, youth and senior citizens late into the night.

Sitting on a traditional cot among villagers, the Chief Minister discussed issues related to farming, irrigation, drinking water, roads, electricity, employment, education, tribal welfare and other local concerns.

During the Chaupal, rural women shared how schemes such as Lakhpati Didi, Krishi Sakhi, Pashu Sakhi and Bank Sakhi had positively transformed their lives. Farmers and livestock rearers suggested improvements related to modern farming techniques, drip irrigation, natural farming, animal husbandry and dairy development, while young people shared their experiences regarding employment opportunities and transparency in competitive examinations.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that the country can prosper only when women become self-reliant and empowered. He said the Lakhpati Didi initiative is writing a new chapter in women’s economic empowerment across the nation.

He stated that the Rajasthan government has already trained more than 21 lakh women under the scheme and helped over 16 lakh women enter the “Lakhpati Didi” category. He urged beneficiaries to become a strong bridge between society and the government and inspire more women to become financially independent.

Sharing her success story, beneficiary Kanta Sen said she initially started working with a sewing machine and later purchased a cow. Today, her annual income has reached Rs 1.40 lakh, and she now motivates other women to become self-reliant and connect with government schemes.

Another beneficiary, Ina Rawat, said she earlier worked only in agricultural fields. After receiving training and financial support, she started tailoring work and later underwent Bank Sakhi training. “Earlier nobody knew me, but now everyone greets me with respect,” she said.

School student Lavisha requested the Chief Minister to introduce the science stream at the Government Senior Secondary School in Bambori. Responding immediately, the Chief Minister assured her that the science stream would be started in the school.

Farmers speaking during the interaction praised the “double-engine government” and said farmers were prospering under its policies. Farmer Mangilal shared that he had been practising organic farming for the last 20 years and had received district-level awards for innovation in agriculture.

Farmer Suresh said subsidies and farmer assistance schemes were proving highly beneficial, while farmer Sitaram Dhakad stated that government initiatives were helping farmers recover cultivation costs and improve earnings.

Livestock rearer Baluram described the Mangala Livestock Insurance Scheme as highly beneficial for animal owners. Another villager, Kishan, said he owns 8-10 cows and is receiving better results through artificial insemination technology.

The Chief Minister directed officials to initiate action for opening a Saras Dairy booth and beautifying the Bambori pond following requests from villagers.

Young resident Utsav Jain appreciated the state government for ensuring transparent recruitment processes and employment opportunities for youth. Newly recruited youths present at the Chaupal thanked the Chief Minister for restoring trust in government examinations.

The Chief Minister said the state government is continuously working for the holistic development, health security, education and economic independence of women and girls. He noted that assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana had been increased from Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,500, while free sonography services are being provided under the Maa Voucher Scheme.

Interacting with villagers, the Chief Minister said the government understands the struggles and dreams of farmers, labourers, poor families and livestock rearers. He remarked that only those who have experienced poverty closely can truly understand its pain.

He encouraged farmers to move towards profitable farming practices and announced that the state government will organise the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM 2026) in Jaipur from May 23 to 25. Thousands of farmers, livestock rearers, agricultural scientists, technology experts, agri-tech developers, startups and agro-processing industrialists from India and abroad are expected to participate.

The Chief Minister also highlighted large-scale irrigation expansion projects aimed at irrigating lakhs of hectares of land. He encouraged farmers to adopt natural and organic farming, cultivate fruit-bearing plants, use modern technologies, embrace solar energy and adopt water conservation techniques such as sprinkler systems.

He said the Gram Vikas Rath Campaign launched on April 27 is spreading awareness about government schemes across every panchayat while also collecting public suggestions through suggestion boxes.

Bhajanlal Sharma added that under the Mukhyamantri Viksit Gram-Ward Campaign, the government is preparing short-term, medium-term and long-term development roadmaps for villages and wards up to 2030, 2035 and 2047, focusing on future needs related to water, roads, education and healthcare.

He further said that youth are the greatest hope not only for parents but also for the nation. Recalling past paper leak incidents, he said such cases had shattered the dreams of hardworking students and their families. He asserted that the government has effectively curbed paper leaks over the last two-and-a-half years and claimed that not a single paper leak incident has occurred during this period.
