Robin Singh Ends Long Association With Mumbai Indians Franchise

New Delhi, May 2026: Former India all-rounder Robin Singh has officially ended his long-standing association with the Mumbai Indians franchise, bringing to a close a successful journey that began in 2010 and spanned multiple T20 leagues and coaching roles.

Robin announced the development through a post on social media platform X on Friday, confirming that he had parted ways not only with Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League but also with their overseas franchise, MI Emirates.

In his statement, Robin clarified that he had not been part of Mumbai Indians’ IPL coaching setup since 2022, but his role with the franchise’s UAE-based team concluded this year.

“I’d like to share that I have officially parted ways with the Mumbai Indians. Although I have not been part of their IPL staff since 2022, as of this year also with their team in the Emirates league,” Robin wrote.

The former India cricketer also expressed gratitude towards the franchise and its fans for their support throughout his long association with the team.

“Thank you to the entire MI family and the fans for the support through this remarkable journey of mine since 2010. Wishing the franchise good luck in the years ahead,” he added.

Robin Singh played an influential role in the Mumbai Indians’ rise as one of the most successful franchises in T20 cricket. During his tenure, the team won five IPL titles and two Champions League T20 trophies, establishing itself as a dominant force in franchise cricket.

Over the years, Robin held several coaching and management positions within the Mumbai Indians setup and was regarded as one of the key architects behind the franchise’s sustained success and player development system.

His association with the Mumbai Indians extended beyond the IPL into global franchise cricket as the Reliance-owned team expanded into international leagues.

Robin served as the general manager of MI Emirates during the inaugural season of the International League T20 (ILT20) in 2023 and was later elevated to the role of head coach in 2024.

As a player, Robin Singh represented India in 136 One Day Internationals and earned recognition for his athletic fielding, utility all-round skills and fighting spirit. He scored 2,336 runs at an average of 25.75 and picked up 69 wickets during his international career.

Following his retirement from international cricket, Robin transitioned into coaching and became a familiar figure in several T20 leagues worldwide.

Interestingly, he had earlier coached the now-defunct Deccan Chargers during the inaugural IPL season in 2008, when the team finished at the bottom of the points table before later evolving into the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise.

Robin Singh’s departure marks the end of a significant era for Mumbai Indians, with players, fans and cricket observers acknowledging his immense contribution to the franchise’s growth, culture and championship success over the last decade and a half.
