Seema Finds Relief from Five-Year-Old Migraine Through Panchakarma Therapy

Sukma District Bringing Healthcare and New Hope to Youth Through Mainstream Rehabilitation

Raipur, May 2026 : For the past five years, 39-year-old Seema Singh from Sukma had been living through what felt like a nightmare. Suffering from severe migraine attacks, she travelled to several major cities in search of relief and underwent extensive allopathic treatment. Despite consuming numerous medicines, her condition showed little improvement.

A ray of hope finally emerged on May 4 when she visited the “Ayush Specialty Clinic Sukma”. Under the supervision of experienced physician Dr. Manoranjan Patro, Seema underwent nearly a week of Ayurvedic treatment combined with medicines and the Panchakarma therapy known as “Shirodhara”.

The treatment produced remarkable results. The chronic migraine pain that had troubled her for years and robbed her of restful sleep gradually disappeared. Relieved and smiling once again, Seema expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government and district administration for helping her regain a healthy life.

A Positive Picture of Changing Healthcare Services

Seema Singh’s recovery reflects the serious efforts being undertaken by the district administration to improve healthcare access in remote regions. The hospital has not only strengthened its infrastructure but has also introduced traditional and highly effective Panchakarma therapies as part of its healthcare services.

Due to these initiatives, the hospital is now functioning efficiently six days a week, except Sundays. On average, 14 to 15 patients visit the facility daily and are benefiting from improved healthcare and wellness treatments.

Bringing Youth Back into the Mainstream

Alongside expanding healthcare services, the district administration has also set an example in youth rehabilitation and social reintegration.

Under a special initiative led by the District Collector, two surrendered youths were connected with the mainstream and provided dignified employment at the Ayush hospital under the “Collector Rate” system.

By providing employment opportunities to these previously misguided youths, the administration has not only ensured financial security for their families but has also contributed to peace and development in the district.

Sukma Emerging as a Model of Good Governance

Today, the Ayush hospital in Sukma has become more than just a healthcare centre — it stands as a symbol of hope, healing and rehabilitation.

On one hand, citizens suffering from chronic illnesses are receiving quality Ayurvedic and Panchakarma treatment locally without needing to travel to distant cities. On the other hand, unemployed and surrendered youths are being brought back into the national mainstream through meaningful livelihood opportunities.

This unique combination of healthcare transformation and social reform has demonstrated that with strong administrative commitment, even remote and Maoist-affected districts like Sukma can become examples of sensitive governance, development and inclusive progress under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.

Team Maverick.
