Struggle Ends, Victory Belongs to Lord Mahadev’s Devotees: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
Chief Minister Felicitated by Shri Pimpaleshwar Mahadev Temple Trust
Thane, June 2026: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said that the long-pending issue concerning the Pimpaleshwar Mahadev Temple has finally been resolved due to the positive cooperation between the Revenue and Industries Departments. He described the development as a victory for the devotees of Lord Mahadev and announced that the entire land in question has now been dedicated to the Pimpaleshwar Mahadev Temple.
Speaking at a felicitation ceremony organized by the Shri Pimpaleshwar Mahadev Temple Trust, Fadnavis said, “It is a matter of great happiness that a prolonged struggle related to the Pimpaleshwar Mahadev Temple has finally come to an end. This is a victory for all devotees of Lord Mahadev.”
The event was attended by Industries Minister Uday Samant, Member of Parliament Dr. Shrikant Shinde, MLAs Ravindra Chavan, Kisan Kathore, Kumar Ailani, Sulabha Gaikwad and Rajesh More, former MP Kapil Patil, former Minister Jagannath Patil, District Collector Dr. Shrikrishna Panchal, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Commissioner Abhinav Goyal, trustees of the temple and a large number of devotees from the surrounding region.
The programme began with Chief Minister Fadnavis performing a ceremonial Mahapuja at the temple. On behalf of the devotees and the temple trust, he was accorded a grand public felicitation in recognition of his role in resolving the issue.
Responding to the honour, the Chief Minister paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of Hindavi Swarajya, and Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. He also expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the successful resolution of the matter.
In his address, Fadnavis said that the achievement was the result of collective efforts by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and other members of the state cabinet. However, he emphasized that all of them were merely instruments in accomplishing the task.
“We are only mediums. It is Lord Mahadev who gets such work done. Therefore, the entire credit for this success belongs to Mahadev. He gave us the opportunity to perform this sacred duty and completed the work through our government,” Fadnavis said.
The Chief Minister further noted that the temple possesses a rich historical legacy and assured devotees that the government would work to restore and preserve its glorious heritage. He said efforts would be made to ensure that the temple regains the prominence and significance it enjoyed in the past.
The programme began with a welcome address by Pandharinath Patil. MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde and MLA Ravindra Chavan also shared their views during the event. Responding to demands raised by both leaders regarding the development of the temple precincts, the Chief Minister assured that all proposals related to infrastructure and area development would be given priority by the government.
The event concluded with devotees expressing satisfaction over the resolution of the longstanding issue and optimism about the future development of the historic temple complex.
