Police Patils Should Perform Their Duties Diligently: Guardian Minister Jaykumar Rawal District-Level Police Patil Meet Concludes

Dhule, January 2026 : Police Patils form the backbone of the policing system in rural areas, playing a crucial role in maintaining law and order. Therefore, they must perform their duties with utmost dedication, said Guardian Minister Jaykumar Rawal.

The district-level Police Patil meet and the unveiling of the ‘Police Patil Guidebook’ were held today at Hirabhavan, where the minister addressed the gathering. Present at the event were MLAs Anup Agrawal, Raghavendra Patil, former Union Minister Dr. Subhash Bhamre, Superintendent of Police Srikant Dhivre, Additional SP Dr. Ajay Devre, Deputy Subdivisional Police Officer Dnyaneshwar Jadhav, and other dignitaries.

Minister Rawal emphasized that the preventive role of Police Patils—ensuring incidents do not occur in the first place—is far more important than merely reporting incidents after they happen. In villages, Police Patils are seen as respected figures. Nowadays, educated men and women, including graduates and postgraduates, serve as Police Patils. The guidebook will help provide clear direction and guidance for their duties.

He noted that colonial-era laws were originally designed to control the population. These have now been replaced with the Indian Justice Code 2023, Indian Citizen Security Code 2023, and Indian Evidence Act, historic legislations implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Police Patils play a vital role in the effective enforcement of these laws. They are responsible for monitoring village affairs, remaining vigilant, maintaining law and order, and ensuring peace.

MLA Raghavendra Patil said that in the daily lives of rural citizens, along with the sarpanch, gramsevak, and employment officers, the Police Patil is a highly important link.

MLA Anup Agrawal stated that the Police Patil system is highly effective in rural areas, functioning as the police department’s “slip service” representative. Former Union Minister Dr. Bhamre also shared his views on the initiative.

Superintendent of Police Srikant Dhivre mentioned that, following Guardian Minister Rawal’s instructions, the district-level meet was organized to recognize and honor Police Patils performing exemplary work. The guidebook contains practical instructions for daily work, acts, government notifications, and regulations, helping Police Patils understand their rights and responsibilities.

During the event, Police Patils who promptly relay information regarding law and order to the police were honored with certificates of appreciation by dignitaries. The guidebook was also officially unveiled. The event’s introduction was delivered by Assistant Police Inspector Rupesh Kale, and Additional SP Dr. Devre offered the vote of thanks. Police Patils from across the district attended the meet in large numbers.
