Advocates Play a Vital Role in Nation-Building; Development Is Incomplete Without Speedy Justice: CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur, January 2026: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that advocates played a leading role in India’s freedom movement, with eminent figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar emerging from the legal fraternity. He noted that the Indian Constitution is the result of the foresight of these jurists, making it the world’s most comprehensive and dynamic constitution.

The Chief Minister was addressing the oath-taking and golden jubilee ceremony of the Rajasthan High Court Bar Association, Jaipur, on Saturday. He said the association has dedicated its valuable time to ensuring justice and stands as a symbol of strength and unity with more than 3,500 advocates. Over the past 50 years, the association has set several milestones, he added.

Advocates Are Guardians of Fundamental Rights and Democracy
CM Sharma said advocates do more than practice law—they give voice to the soul of society, hear the cries of the oppressed, and help deliver justice. They are a crucial pillar of the justice system, protectors of fundamental rights, and guardians of democracy. Their reasoning, knowledge, and commitment form the foundation of justice. He emphasized that a democratic system becomes strong only when it earns public trust, which is the greatest strength of the judicial system.

Three New Laws Being Implemented at the Grassroots Level
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is moving forward with the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas.” He reiterated that development is incomplete without speedy justice and that “justice delayed is justice denied” is being taken seriously by the state government. Rajasthan is implementing three new laws at the grassroots level, making it one of the fastest states in delivering justice. The state has swiftly adopted the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.

42 New Courts Established by the State Government
CM Sharma said the government has established 42 new courts to strengthen the judiciary. Eight new District and Sessions Courts have been created, including at Phalodi and Khairthal-Tijara. Regular Additional District and Sessions Courts have replaced camp courts at Badi Sadri and Keshoraipatan. Special courts under the POCSO Act have been set up in Hanumangarh, Sawai Madhopur, Churu, Bikaner, and Jodhpur. Additionally, a Special Judicial Magistrate (NI Act) court has been created in Jhunjhunu, and Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate courts have been established in Pahari (Deeg) and Khairthal-Tijara.

Expansion of Judicial Services in Rajasthan
The Chief Minister said e-courts are being rapidly expanded across the state. Facilities such as video conferencing for hearings, online case filing, and e-payments are benefiting litigants and advocates alike. Judicial services are being extended to remote villages to ensure access to justice. The number of fast-track courts and special courts is being increased for speedy disposal of pending cases.

He emphasized that delivering justice to the last person in Rajasthan is a top priority of the government and can be achieved only with the cooperation of advocates. Lok Adalats are being expanded to provide quick and free justice, and free legal aid is being made available to underprivileged litigants through Legal Services Authorities.

Earlier, Acting Chief Justice Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma administered the oath of office to the newly elected executive body of the Rajasthan High Court Bar Association, Jaipur.

On the occasion, CM Bhajanlal Sharma also inaugurated the newly constructed underground vehicle parking facility at the Rajasthan High Court Jaipur Bench.

The event was attended by Acting Chief Justice Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham, Justice Anil Kumar Upman, senior officials, the Advocate General Rajendra Prasad, Chairman of the Bar Council of Rajasthan Bhuvnesh Sharma, office bearers of the new executive body of the Bar Association, and a large number of advocates.
