Telangana Police Launch Massive Manhunt for Suspect Accused of Killing Six, Including Wife, Children and POCSO Complainant

Hyderabad, July 2026 : Telangana Police have intensified their search for 35-year-old B. Rajkumar, who is accused of brutally murdering six people, including his wife, two young sons, and three members of the family that had filed a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case against him, in a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves across the state.

According to police, the murders took place late on the night of July 10 in Daivalaguda and Shabad mandal of Rangareddy district. Authorities have formed 12 special teams to track down the accused, who remains absconding.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Yogesh Gautam on Sunday dismissed rumours circulating on social media claiming that Rajkumar had already been arrested. He clarified that intensive search operations were continuing and urged the public not to believe unverified reports.

The manhunt involves technical surveillance teams, railway police and intelligence units. Investigators said the accused switched off his mobile phone around midnight on July 10, making it difficult to trace his movements electronically. Police are now relying heavily on CCTV footage from highways, railway stations and bus terminals to determine his escape route.

Officials suspect Rajkumar may have fled to a neighbouring state. Surveillance has been intensified along highways leading to Karnataka and other adjoining states, while police teams have searched hotels, lodges and transit points along the Hyderabad-Bengaluru National Highway.

To encourage public cooperation, the Future City Police Commissionerate has announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh for information leading to Rajkumar’s arrest.

Meanwhile, Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi has suspended Shabad Police Sub-Inspector Ramesh, who was the investigating officer in the earlier POCSO case registered against the accused.

According to investigators, Rajkumar allegedly carried out the killings between 11.30 p.m. and midnight at two locations situated about six kilometres apart. After committing the crimes, he reportedly called his father around 11.50 p.m., confessed to the murders and disclosed what he had done. His father subsequently informed the Shabad Police Station, prompting officers to rush to the crime scenes.

Police said the accused first targeted the family of the 17-year-old girl who had lodged a POCSO complaint against him. He allegedly entered their house on Kummariguda Road in Shabad and stabbed the girl’s mother Lakshmi and maternal grandmother Rukkama to death before abducting the teenager.

The minor was later taken to Daivalaguda village, around six kilometres away, where she was allegedly murdered. Preliminary investigations have ruled out sexual assault before the killing.

Rajkumar then allegedly went to his own residence and killed his wife Sarita and their two sons, aged four years and one-and-a-half years. Police said all six victims were first stabbed with a knife before their throats were slit.

Investigators believe the killings were motivated by revenge. Rajkumar had been booked in May under Sections 11 and 12 of the POCSO Act for allegedly stalking and sexually harassing the minor girl. Although he was arrested, he secured bail last month.

Police said the investigation is continuing on multiple fronts as teams work to trace the fugitive and establish the complete sequence of events leading to one of the most gruesome crimes reported in Telangana in recent years.
