Water Conservation, Tourism Development and New Employment Opportunities for Local Youth

Raipur, February 2026 : Through the active initiative and sustained efforts of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister and Bhatgaon MLA, Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, administrative approval has been granted for major development works worth ₹10.93 crore in the Bhatgaon Assembly constituency. Once completed, these works will strengthen water conservation, expand irrigation facilities, preserve the region’s natural beauty, and give fresh momentum to tourism development. In addition, they will create new employment and income opportunities for local youth.

In Surajpur district, under the Bhaiyathan development block, an amount of ₹4.94 crore has been approved for the renovation of the Brijeshwar Sagar Reservoir Project. Similarly, ₹4.73 crore has been sanctioned for the restoration work of the Kurridih Reservoir Project in the same block. Furthermore, ₹1.26 crore has been approved for the repair and renovation of the Basanara Reservoir (pond) located in the Odgi development block.

Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade said that the conservation and development of water resources will strengthen the rural economy, while the expansion of tourism will provide new employment opportunities for youth and accelerate the overall development of the region. She directed officials to ensure that all approved works are completed within the stipulated time frame and with high quality standards.

Residents of the Bhatgaon Assembly constituency have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the state government and Minister Laxmi Rajwade for this significant boost to development works.
