Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai Presents Green Leaf Award to Sarna Ethnic Resort, Jashpur

Raipur, February 2026 : Another golden chapter has been added to Chhattisgarh’s tourism sector. The Sarna Ethnic Resort at Jashpur has been honoured with the prestigious Green Leaf Award for the year 2025–26 after being found fully compliant with cleanliness standards and the guidelines of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) within the resort and its परिसर.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai presented the award to Shri Vivek Acharya, Managing Director of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. On this occasion, Shri Neelu Sharma, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, was also specially present.

Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal congratulated the officials of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board on this achievement and extended his best wishes. He said that the award is a symbol of the board’s tireless efforts and its strong commitment to environmental conservation.

The Green Leaf Award is a prestigious recognition in the tourism sector that promotes cleanliness, environmental protection, and sustainable development. It is part of the Swachhta Green Leaf Rating operated by the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The award is conferred on hotels, resorts, homestays, and other tourism units that adhere to high standards of hygiene, water conservation, waste management, energy efficiency, and compliance with the guidelines of the National Green Tribunal.

In recent years, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board has made an unprecedented contribution to tourism development. By developing eco-friendly resorts, homestays, and trekking routes, the board has recorded a significant increase in tourism revenue. The honour bestowed upon Sarna Ethnic Resort, Jashpur stands as a living example of the board’s policies on cleanliness, biodiversity conservation, and empowerment of local communities, and is expected to give fresh momentum to tourism in the state.
