Forest MoS Sanjay Sharma Honours National Gold Medal–Winning Basketball Team

Jaipur, February 2026: Minister of State for Forests (Independent Charge) Shri Sanjay Sharma today attended a felicitation ceremony organised at BL School, Nayabas, to honour the team that won the gold medal at the 69th National Basketball Championship. On the occasion, he also released the poster of My Budget Quiz 2026.

Encouraging the players, Shri Sanjay Sharma said that both the Central and State governments are firmly committed to strengthening girls’ education and promoting sports and sportspersons across the state. He said that the daughters of Alwar have brought pride to the district by winning a gold medal at the national level and making Alwar’s name resonate across the country.

Referring to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Fit India vision, the Minister said that Union Forest Minister Shri Bhupendra Yadav has provided platforms such as the Alwar MP Sports Festival and the Alwar Tiger Marathon to help rural and urban players of Alwar showcase and sharpen their sporting talent.

He further said that the International Alwar Tiger Marathon, scheduled to be held on February 8, will see participation from renowned runners from India and abroad, which will help bring global recognition to Alwar.

During the ceremony, Shri Sanjay Sharma also honoured the state team officials and team coach Dr. Deepika Sharma for creating history by securing the gold medal and achieving first place at the national level.

A large number of citizens were present at the event.
