Registration for wheat procurement at support price till March 7 : CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that registration for wheat procurement in state started on February 7 and will continue till March 7. Altogether 3,186 registration centres have been set up in the state. Support price of wheat is Rs 160 higher than last year. Positive messages have been received in health sector. Maternal mortality rate in the state reduced from 173 to 142 and infant mortality rate dropped from 41 to 37. Madhya Pradesh is among top 5 states in country in TB eradication programme. Extensive arrangements has been made for sickle cell eradication in state. Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the country in treatment through Ayushman Scheme. Continuous progress is also being made in implementation of air ambulance service and Rahveer Scheme. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave this information in his address before Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, after collective singing of Vande Mataram.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Vikramotsav and Gudi Padwa festivals should be celebrated with joy and enthusiasm in all districts. Immediately after this, Jal Ganga campaign will start in the state, which will continue for 3 months. Ministers have been directed to ensure proper coordination for smooth implementation of campaign activities in their districts. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav provided information about the programme held in Balaghat on February 9 to mark state’s liberation from Naxalites.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that agriculture cabinet of Mahakaushal region will be held in Balaghat, which will symbolise resolve to bring the entire region into mainstream development. He said that the state will soon receive gift of Singrauli-Jabalpur train in rail sector.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that for promoting wildlife tourism, the plan is to develop rescue centres and zoos together; activities have started in Jabalpur and Ujjain. Rescue centres will be set up wherever sanctuaries exist. He directed Tourism, Forest and Culture Departments to make coordinated action plan to promote wildlife tourism. He congratulated people on increase in cheetah population, saying that extinct wildlife species are being revived. The number of cheetahs in state has reached 35. More good news will follow soon. Indore Zoo has also increased number of white tigers.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that after discussion with Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Bhupendra Yadav regarding wildlife restoration, wild buffalo will now be brought to the state. From Botswana, 8 cheetahs will arrive on February 28.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that support price of paddy is Rs 2369, higher than last MSP. Paddy production in state is 51.74 lakh metric tonnes. More than 8.59 lakh farmers registered, of which more than 7.89 lakh farmers contributed to paddy production through spot booking.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that sufficient wheat production is expected this year, and state government has proper storage arrangements. He urged ministers to explore opportunities for establishing textile industry units in their areas and make efforts for establishment of essential employment-generating textile units. Chief Minister also shared information about his recent Haridwar trip.
