Research Should Be Such That It Changes Everyone’s Thinking: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that research is not merely an academic activity, it is a power that changes the direction of society and nation. Any research should be of such high quality that it gives all of us a new vision and new direction. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav urged all researchers to move forward fearlessly in research fields of their curiosity and interest for development of the country. He said that just as necessity is the mother of invention, similarly research is the originator of science and all scientific methods. When scientific knowledge becomes integrated into human intellect, it takes the form of ‘Pragyan’. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the three-day National Shodharthi Samagam (National Researchers Meet) 2026 organised by Shri Dattopant Thengadi Shodh Sansthan at the Science Bhavan of MP Vigyan Evam Praudyogiki Parishad on Thursday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in development of science lies comprehensive development of the country. Our government is committed to making Madhya Pradesh a leading state in the
field of research and innovation. He said research is the foundation of development of society and it should be taken forward with a modern, refined and improved perspective. Inspiring researchers, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said they should not remain limited to traditional assumptions, but present such research with new ideas and scientific outlook that can bring positive change in society.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said research is not only an academic requirement, but also a powerful medium of social change and development. The world’s knowledge has been influenced by the West. Indian culture has also been influenced by it. In our culture, there has never been a tradition of individual research. Research should be society-based, in which the welfare of the nation is spoken of. Through the National Shodharthi Samagam, Dattopant Thengadi Shodh Sansthan is providing new direction to researchers of the country.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the “Mahakal: The master of time” website and released the poster of “41st Madhya Pradesh Yuva Vaigyanik Sammelan Evam Vigyan Utsav” to be organised by Mapcost along with the Mahakal brochure. The Chief Minister also released seven books based on research-oriented writing published by Dattopant Thengadi Shodh Sansthan. Researchers, academicians and experts from across the country participated in the National Shodharthi Samagam. In this meet, which will continue till February 14, discussions will be held on various dimensions of research, science and innovation.
Pujya Acharya Shri Mithleshanandinisharan Maharaj said that Madhya Pradesh has made the world aware of the prestige of Mahakal. We are giving everything to the world because we have Mahakal. Researchers are in a way seekers of realisation, as research that does not lead us to realisation is useless. Human knowledge is based on contemplation, not data. Analysing data is the work of machines. Why should we fear Western countries. Nothing will happen by only criticising the West. We must conduct research by thinking comprehensively in all directions. Our research should be rooted in Indian culture and character, not reactionary. Not every new idea is innovation. Doing new work while accepting traditions is innovation.
Senior writer and thinker Shri Suresh Soni, in the keynote address, said that in the geographical form of India, a Veda-based cultural landscape is visible. For the resurgence of India, Pt.
Deendayal Upadhyay had said that there should be no manifestation of foreign values in it. In the last 150 to 200 years, Europe-based academic education systems have been implemented in India. Now our researchers should work on research based on Indian education methodology on subjects like art, culture, justice and economy. Indian holistic perspective should also be kept in mind in this. At present our medical system is physical. In Ayurveda Shastra, Maharshi Charak says that any substance has five levels: gross, form, subtle, component and meaning. We have to study on the basis of Indian perspective and how to use earlier systems in the present with innovations. This must be kept in mind while doing research.
Chairman of Bharatiya Samajik Vigyan Anusandhan Parishad and Vice Chancellor of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Janjatiya Vishwavidyalaya, Prof. Madhukar S Padvi said that for the resurgence of India there is a need to re-establish our civilisation and knowledge. We should not follow the perspective of any other country in our research work, instead adopt indigenous perspective. Research should not be individual but collaborative.
Higher Education and Ayush Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar said that researchers from across the country are participating in this three-day National Shodharthi Samagam organised by Dattopant Thengadi Shodh Sansthan. This event is playing an important role in promoting research of India-centric tradition, culture and heritage in National Education Policy-2020. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the resolve of Viksit Bharat @2047 has been taken. Through India-centric research and education we will again become Vishwa Guru.
The welcome address was delivered by convener of National Shodharthi Samagam Dr. Alpana Trivedi. The theme introduction was given by Dr. Mukesh Kumar Mishra. President of Dattopant Thengadi Shodh Sansthan Shri Ashok Pandey highlighted the subject matter of the meet. At the conclusion of the inaugural session, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also planted a sapling in Science Bhavan premises.
In the inaugural session, Chairman of Mapcost Dr. Anil Kothari, Vice Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya Shri Vijay Manohar Tiwari, along with teachers and researcher-students were present.
