Minister Lalrinpuii Launches ‘Vahui’ Online Grievance Redressal Portal for Health & Family Welfare Department
Aizawl : Health & Family Welfare Minister, Pi Lalrinpuii, today inaugurated the ‘Vahui’ Online Grievance Redressal Portal at 10:00 AM in her office chamber at MINECO. The portal is designed to address complaints and concerns raised by citizens regarding various offices and hospitals under the Health & Family Welfare Department.
Minister Lalrinpuii expressed her satisfaction with the launch, stating that the ‘Vahui’ portal marks a significant milestone for the department. “This is an important advancement and a new beginning for us,” she said. The portal, named after Mizo folklore’s wise Tualvungi, is expected to be an effective tool for citizens to voice their concerns directly to the department. “This portal will enhance transparency and accountability, benefiting both the public and the department staff,” she added.
The Minister further explained that while the state government already has an existing grievance redressal portal, ‘Mipui Aw’, the need for a more specific platform arose due to the unique requirements of the Health & Family Welfare Department. The ‘Vahui’ portal will cater to the needs of all departmental offices, from the smallest sub-centers to the central secretariat, ensuring that grievances are efficiently addressed.
Minister Lalrinpuii emphasized the portal’s integration with Grievance Redressal Committees at all health facilities and offices. These committees, comprising Nodal Officers, will ensure that the concerns raised through ‘Vahui’ are promptly addressed. The system will automatically track and manage the status of each grievance, providing updates to users via SMS.
The launch event, chaired by Pi Sangchhin Chinzah, IAS, Secretary of the Health & Family Welfare Department, included a technical report presentation by Dr. Eric Zomawia, Project Director of the Mizoram Health System Strengthening Project. The ‘Vahui’ portal, developed under the Mizoram Health Systems Strengthening Project (MHSSP), allows users to submit complaints online using a phone or computer, ensuring accessibility and ease of use. The portal excludes RTI-related issues, legal matters, and other non-applicable concerns.
To facilitate the process, Grievance Redressal Committees have been established at various levels, from state to sub-centre, ensuring a comprehensive approach to resolving complaints. Users can submit their personal information and receive a Tracking ID via SMS to monitor their grievance’s progress. Additionally, a Grievance Redressal Helpline at 104 is available for those unable to use the portal.
