Dated Aizawl, the 14th February, 2026:
Today, the closing function of LESDE Kut 2026, organised by the Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (LESDE) Department, was held at Lammual, Aizawl. On this occasion, Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, Minister, LESDE Department, attended as the chief guest, while Dr Lalhriatzuali Ralte, Secretary, LESDE, chaired the programme. MLA Er. Ginzalala and MLA Pi Baryl Vanneihsangi were also present at the closing ceremony.

Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar stated that LESDE Kut was organised for entrepreneurs, skilled persons and job seekers, and that it served as a platform to showcase the LESDE Department and to disseminate information on various government schemes available to the public. He mentioned that although LESDE is not a large department, it works in coordination with five Central Ministries — the Labour Ministry, the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He added that Mizoram is steadily progressing in the fields of entrepreneurship and skill development, and urged participants to continue thinking creatively and innovatively for better and different outcomes. He also expressed gratitude to the officials and the public who contributed to the success of LESDE Kut.

Pi Lalhriatzuali Ralte welcomed the participants and said that hard work and determination are the most important factors for success. She stated that the government is actively exploring avenues for youth employment not only within India but also abroad, and encouraged young people to make effective use of the opportunities provided by the government for employment and skill training.

A report on the Kut was presented by Pu John Tanpuia, Director, LESDE. LESDE Kut commenced on February 10, and at the inaugural function, Governor Dr Vijay Kumar Singh launched two schemes under the Mizoram Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (MBOCWWB), namely Eizawma Kailawn and Rahbi Chertu.

On the second day of the Kut, seminars were conducted under the State Level Vendor Development Programme with participation from five Public Sector Units — Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, National SC/ST Hub Guwahati, Department of Food Technology, Mizoram University, Mizoram Rural Bank (MRB), and the Food Corporation of India. The Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM NAPS) was also organised, during which around 20 establishments and over 100 apprentices registered.

From the third day onwards, entertainment programmes were held. Designers from the Skill Development sector — Valkia, Mahlui, Teremi and Tluangpuii Hmar — showcased their creations through models from Mizoram, along with live concerts.

A total of 162 stalls were set up at LESDE Kut, including 11 stalls from outside Mizoram. As per records up to February 13, 234 entrepreneurs and job seekers registered under various government schemes, 28 people secured employment, and more than 1,000 individuals availed free health check-ups. The total sales across stalls amounted to approximately ₹35 lakh.
