Telangana Showcases AI Leadership and Global Collaboration at India AI Impact Summit 2026
Hyderabad, Feb 2026 : Telangana’s growing stature as a major hub for artificial intelligence–driven innovation came into sharp focus during interactions with representatives of the US–India Business Council at the USIBC Round Table, held on the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit–2026 in New Delhi on Thursday.
Addressing the round table, Telangana’s Minister for Industry and Information Technology, D. Sridhar Babu, highlighted the state’s readiness to host and scale next-generation AI investments. He said Telangana’s world-class infrastructure, robust digital backbone, and vibrant technology ecosystem make it an attractive destination for US companies seeking future-ready and scalable platforms.
In his keynote remarks, the minister underlined that stable, progressive, and investor-friendly policies have laid a strong foundation for artificial intelligence research, development, and deployment in the state. He noted that Telangana has consistently focused on policy clarity and long-term planning, enabling innovation to flourish while ensuring regulatory certainty for global investors.
Sridhar Babu said the state government is actively promoting public–private partnerships with leading American technology firms. These collaborations are aimed not only at driving innovation but also at applying artificial intelligence to real-world governance challenges. AI-enabled systems, he explained, are already being used to strengthen public service delivery through real-time monitoring, data-driven decision-making, and improved accountability.
Positioning Telangana as a launchpad for AI-led innovation, the minister emphasized that the state offers diverse opportunities across sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, education, urban development, and smart infrastructure. Dedicated innovation centres focusing on these domains have helped Telangana emerge as a frontrunner in applying artificial intelligence for inclusive and sustainable growth.
He further stated that the upcoming state budget will prioritize the establishment of AI-focused institutions, including an AI University, specialized AI Hubs, and large-scale skill development initiatives. Building a highly skilled workforce capable of meeting global technology demands remains a top priority for the government, he added.
Sharing his views on social media platform X, Sridhar Babu said that Telangana’s message at the summit was clear: AI safety should be seen as the foundation of innovation rather than an obstacle. He stressed that unchecked growth without safeguards can undermine public trust, and that responsible standards will ultimately determine the true potential of artificial intelligence.
He added that Telangana is shaping this future through initiatives such as AIKAM, TGDeX, AI City, and Bharat Future City, which aim to scale innovation while keeping sustainability, shared responsibility, and citizen-centric governance at their core.
On the sidelines of the summit, Sridhar Babu also held discussions with Nezar Patria, Vice Minister for Communications and Digital Affairs of Indonesia. The talks focused on Indonesia’s proposal to establish a Hyderabad–Jakarta Technology Skills Development Corridor. The proposed initiative seeks to enable the exchange of technological talent, strengthen skill development frameworks, and deepen collaboration between the startup and innovation ecosystems of Telangana and Indonesia, marking another step toward Telangana’s expanding global technology partnerships.
