Farmers’ Interests Paramount in Indore–Ujjain Greenfield Four-Lane Road Project: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the Indore–Ujjain metropolitan corridor holds significant importance from a future development perspective. Keeping farmers’ interests paramount and incorporating their suggestions, the Indore–Ujjain Greenfield Four-Lane Road Project will now be constructed at grade rather than as an elevated corridor. He assured that the government and administration are fully committed to providing fair compensation to farmers whose land may be affected.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav interacted with farmer representatives from various villages of Indore and Ujjain districts who called on him on Wednesday evening. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav received their gratitude for taking a farmer-centric decision regarding the construction of the Indore–Ujjain Greenfield Four-Lane Road Project.

Major Regional Development Initiative Worth ₹2,935.15 crore

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that under a ₹2,935.15 crore project being implemented through the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation, a four-lane road will be constructed to enhance connectivity and provide improved civic amenities to 28 villages across the two districts.

As part of the upgraded infrastructure, major junctions will be developed at two locations between Indore and Ujjain, at the Western Ring Road and at the Ujjain–Badnawar Road crossing. Adequate arrangements will also be made at each toll plaza to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhanced road safety.

Improved Connectivity and Road Safety

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the existing Indore–Ujjain route has long served as a key link, including for travel to Janapav. Over the years, the narrowing of the road had led to frequent accidents, a situation that will now be addressed through this project. Following consultations with farmers, the Greenfield Four-Lane Road Project has been expedited. After the execution of the contract on February 20, further procedural actions are underway. In view of the upcoming Simhastha 2028, the project is expected to benefit a large population. He emphasised that this initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening road infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh.
