Badlapur Incident Unfortunate, Reprehensible, and Heart-Wrenching – Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
New Delhi : The recent incident in Badlapur (District Thane) is deeply unfortunate, reprehensible, and heart-wrenching. In response, an order has been issued to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the leadership of senior IPS officer Aarti Singh. Additionally, three police officers have been suspended for dereliction of duty. The Thane Police Commissioner has been instructed to submit a proposal for prosecuting the case in a fast-track court. Senior lawyer Adv. Ujjwal Nikam has been appointed to handle the case, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed.
Speaking to the media in New Delhi, Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that necessary actions are being taken within the jurisdiction of the Police Commissionerate, and a proposal for a fast-track court has been requested. The police are handling the situation with sensitivity. Immediate action was taken as soon as the incident came to light. However, the SIT will investigate any delays in the process, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
“Our goal is to ensure justice is served in such serious cases. Right now, the priority is to maintain law and order and to secure justice for the victims,” said Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis.
Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis has provided necessary directives to the Thane Police Commissioner and reiterated the importance of swift justice in this case.
