Patna, June 2026: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, along with Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Jitan Ram Manjhi, jointly laid the foundation stone for the Technology Centre at Khizarsarai in Gaya district by remotely pressing a button and performing the Bhoomi Pujan. They also laid the foundation stone for the widening and strengthening of the road from the 20th km of the Gaya-Islampur-Khizarsarai route to the Technology Centre at Devgaon.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said he was delighted to be present among the people and termed it his good fortune to participate in programmes under three Central government schemes in Khizarsarai, Ara and Patna under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He expressed happiness over the foundation of the Technology Centre worth Rs 170 crore and noted that land for the project had been provided earlier by former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

The Chief Minister highlighted the remarkable growth of the MSME sector in Bihar. He said that while there were only six lakh MSMEs in the state in 2022, the number has now increased to over 46 lakh, creating direct employment opportunities for more than 1.87 crore people.

Stating that Bihar is rapidly transforming, he credited former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for development in sectors such as electricity, roads and drinking water. He noted that electricity access had expanded dramatically from 17 lakh households in 2005 to 2.22 crore households today.

“Bihar today provides the cheapest and uninterrupted electricity supply in the country,” he said, adding that the state provides electricity subsidies worth Rs 23,000 crore and offers 125 units of free electricity to consumers.

Referring to the recently launched PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, he said it would benefit poor households and promote solar energy. Households generating solar power beyond 125 units would receive payments directly into their bank accounts.

The Chief Minister stressed that Bihar’s prosperity is linked to India’s prosperity and said industrial development and efficient administration are essential for the state’s progress. He asserted that there would be zero tolerance for crime, corruption and communalism.

He warned criminals that anyone challenging the police would receive a response within 48 hours. “Criminals in Gaya will either perform pind daan or remain in jail,” he remarked.

Announcing welfare measures, he said all social pension beneficiaries would receive pensions directly in their accounts by the 10th of every month. Financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each has already been transferred to the accounts of 1.81 crore women to promote self-employment.

The Chief Minister also announced that 40 acres of land would be provided for constructing an international stadium in Khizarsarai. He said roads and other infrastructure would also be developed around the stadium.

He further pledged to ensure year-round flow in the Falgu River by bringing water from the Indrapuri Reservoir, Son River and the Bansagar Agreement, thereby symbolically freeing the river from the curse associated with Mata Sita.

Several ministers, legislators, senior bureaucrats and officials were present on the occasion.
