Rajasthan Police Cracks Down on Traffic Violators; Thousands of Vehicles Penalised in Special Drive, 7,721 Challaned on Sunday Alone

Massive Enforcement Across State; Zero Tolerance Against Black Films and Illegal Hooters

Jaipur, June 2026: Rajasthan Police’s special enforcement drive against traffic rule violations is in full swing across the state to ensure safer roads, smoother transportation, and strict compliance with the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

The month-long intensive campaign, being conducted from June 1 to June 30 under the directions of Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma, is being closely supervised by Director General (Training and Traffic) Anil Paliwal and Additional Director General of Police (Traffic) Dr B.L. Meena.

As part of the drive, strict action is being taken against vehicles fitted with illegal modifications, unauthorized red-blue beacons, hooters, pressure horns, black films, unauthorized words and symbols, and non-standard number plates — all of which are considered serious threats to road safety and law and order.

On Sunday alone, the highest number of violations was recorded for vehicles fitted with black films, with 2,853 such vehicles penalised. Authorities consider black films a major challenge to both road safety and security.

Action Against 7,721 Vehicles in a Single Day

Under the campaign, action was taken against 7,721 vehicles across Rajasthan on June 14 alone. The breakdown of violations is as follows:

  • 726 vehicles were found with illegal structural modifications.
  • 674 vehicles had unauthorized red-blue beacons and hooters.
  • 438 vehicles were using pressure horns or air horns.
  • 2,853 vehicles were fitted with black films.
  • 1,041 vehicles displayed unauthorized words and symbols.
  • 1,989 vehicles had number plates that violated prescribed norms.

Kota Leads Enforcement Drive

Among all districts, Kota City topped the list with action taken against 406 vehicles, the highest in the state on June 14.

Other districts with significant enforcement included:

  • Alwar – 388 cases
  • Jaipur West – 378 cases
  • Jaipur Rural – 338 cases
  • Jaipur Traffic – 303 cases
  • Bhilwara – 297 cases
  • Chittorgarh – 296 cases

The figures reflect the extensive deployment of police personnel across the state to curb traffic violations and improve road safety.

Campaign to Continue

DG Traffic Anil Paliwal stated that the special drive aims to reduce road accidents and establish a safer traffic system throughout Rajasthan.

He appealed to the public to refrain from making illegal modifications to vehicles, using black films, pressure horns, unauthorized hooters, or non-standard number plates.

“Citizens should strictly follow traffic rules to ensure not only their own safety but also the safety of others on the road,” he said.

Rajasthan Police has reiterated that the campaign will continue with full intensity and that strict action will be taken against all violators as part of its zero-tolerance policy toward traffic offences.
