Bhagoria Festival Vibrantly Celebrates Joy and Social Harmony: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Bhagoria festival, immersed in the colours of the month of Phalgun, the rhythmic beats of the mandal drum, and the spirit of love for life, is a vibrant celebration of tribal culture, social affection and traditional values. He remarked that the true essence of Bhagoria can be experienced only by participating in it firsthand. The Chief Minister attended the local Bhagoria Festival at Udaygarh in Alirajpur, where traditional folk melodies, dances, and an atmosphere of enthusiasm filled the entire region with cultural vibrancy. He stated that Bhagoria symbolizes tribal culture, love and social harmony.
The Madhya Pradesh Government is fully committed to preserving and promoting tribal traditions and continues to encourage such cultural events. Celebrated with dignity and grandeur, the festival reflects a strong
cultural identity of tribal society and the sensitive approach of the State Government toward heritage and development.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was accorded a grand welcome by members of the tribal community and local citizens in accordance with traditional customs. He was presented with a traditional bow and arrow symbolizing tribal culture, and administrative officials welcomed him with bouquets. Greetings were extended to all on the occasion of the national festival of Bhagoria.
Minister for Scheduled Caste Welfare Shri Nagar Singh stated that the Chief Minister’s participation in the Bhagoria festival at Udaygarh further enhanced the joy and enthusiasm of the celebration.
During the festival, tribal youth were seen dressed in vibrant traditional attire. Men wore dhotis, angocchas, and turbans, while women adorned kanchlis, ghaghras, odhnis, and intricately embroidered garments.
The jingling of silver ornaments—necklaces, hanslis, bangles, anklets and toe rings, added grandeur to the occasion. Folk dances performed to the beats of mandal, dhol, and other traditional instruments, along with collective celebration and social bonding, made the Bhagoria atmosphere lively and memorable.
Former MP Shri Gumansingh Damor, former MLA Shri Madhosingh Dawar, Shri Vishal Rawat, the District Panchayat President, Janpad President, Indore Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade, Collector Smt. Neetu Mathur, the Superintendent of Police, administrative officials, local citizens, and a large number of members of the tribal community were present. The entire region resonated with festivity, enthusiasm, and cultural spirit.
