Jan Kalyan Shivir Are Emerging as an Effective Means of Delivering Public Services to Every Household: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, June 2026 : Chief Minister Smt Rekha Gupta said that the Jan Kalyan Shivir (Public Welfare Camps) being organised by the Delhi Government from June 18 to 20 have received an encouraging response from residents across the capital. On the first day of the camps, June 18, a total of 15,186 citizens visited 42 Jan Suvidha Kendras across Delhi to obtain information about various government schemes and services, seek solutions to their grievances, and complete necessary formalities.

The Chief Minister said that enthusiastic participation was witnessed across all parts of the city on the very first day. Citizens visited all 42 centres to learn about government schemes and services and to approach the concerned departments for resolution of their issues. The highest footfall was recorded at the Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya centre in Trilokpuri, where 1,280 citizens attended. This was followed by the East Loni Road centre with 874 visitors and the Savitri Nagar centre with 841 visitors. Significant attendance was also recorded at several other centres, including Najafgarh Stadium, Goyla Dairy Road and Palam Colony. Hundreds of citizens also visited the Inderpuri centre to obtain information about various schemes and services and receive the assistance they required. This large-scale participation reflects the growing willingness of Delhi residents to take advantage of government services and welfare schemes being made available close to their homes.

The Chief Minister said that the strong turnout on the very first day shows that citizens are satisfied with the availability of government services near their homes and are responding positively to the initiative. Many residents visited the camps for services related to ration cards, Ayushman cards, pensions, water connections, Aadhaar registration, e-Shram cards, the Pradhan Mantri SVANidhi Yojana, the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, and other welfare schemes. At various centres, citizens approached officials of the concerned departments based on their specific needs and issues and received guidance and assistance on the spot. In many cases, people not only gathered information about different schemes but also completed the required application and registration processes at the camps.

She said that, encouraged by the success of the first day, the government is confident that a large number of citizens will continue to visit the camps over the remaining two days. In particular, those who are unable to spare time on regular working days are also coming forward to benefit from the initiative. The government has directed all concerned departments to ensure better facilities, guidance and prompt services for citizens during the remaining days of the camps.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the objective of these camps is not merely to provide information about government schemes, but to ensure that eligible citizens receive the actual benefits of those schemes and that their grievances are addressed promptly. With this objective in mind, officials from different departments have been made available at a single location so that citizens do not have to visit multiple government offices. The camps will remain operational every day from 10 am to 5 pm.
